Is there a sweet spot for compressing images for load speed?
I cannot speak to a 'sweet spot' specifically but I would recommend Google's Pagespeed Insights tool for this, you can export optimized/compressed images (as well as CSS and Javascript files) for the page you are analyzing. I've used this method for many clients and have seen improvements in page load time and have never noticed a difference in image quality. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any follow up questions!

Competing pages in the purchase funnel
I'd suggest having your developer(s) add a redirect to step 1 in the case that no tracking/form information is being passed when going to wwww.exmaple.com/step2. Meaning, if I open wwww.exmaple.com/step2 from Google, information I'd have filled out in step 1 isn't present, so I'd then be redirected to wwww.exmaple.com/step1. If you don't have visitors filling out anything in step 1, you can still have a cookie passed when going to step 2. However, if I've gone through step 1, clicking on a link to step 2 will act normally. That's the best I can think of as an alternative. Keep in mind that this is only a suggested alternative, however. I don't know enough about your funnel, process, or product to say if this would have any impact otherwise. Good luck!

Rel Conical - Mobile page
Hi Conor, First off you may find this video from Matt Cutts helpful, he mentioned about blocking the Google mobile bot from your none mobile site. You can also use the rel=alternative and canonical the mobile to the desktop version. you may find this page super helpful - https://developers.google.com/webmasters/smartphone-sites/details#separateurls Annotation in the HTML On the desktop page, add: <code><link< span="">rel="alternate"media="only screen and (max-width: 640px)" href="http://m.example.com/page-1"></link<></code> and on the mobile page, the required annotation should be: <code><link< span="">rel="canonical"href="http://www.example.com/page-1"></link<></code> This rel="canonical" tag on the mobile URL pointing to the desktop page is required. The canonical tag only affect search engines and won't affect users so if you're sharing the same content canonical to the desktop. You may find having a URL structure like m.example.com/product better for organizing the two sites. Hope that helps. good luck!

What is the best SEO Plug-in for Wordpress? What is the best SEO Plug-in for Wordpress?
Another vote for Yoast SEO Plugin, there is a premium version now, but dont think this means the free is in some form a limited plugin it is still a full featured polished product that works well. (Premium offers better support, and redirect module, which can be used free by another plugin)

How similar do pages need to be to utilize the canonical tag
Thanks Martijn. The more I look at it the more I think that it not a good fit in this situation.
