Hiring for SEO
The Local SEO test is at https://moz.com/blog/local-search-expert-quiz-2016\. I would use it as a jumping off point for making your own test (and randomizing the questions), rather than simply having potential candidates take the Moz one. https://moz.com/blog/local-search-expert-quiz-2016

The perfect team ???
Hi Bryan, I would suggest hiring in agency to start out with somebody extremely reputable friends since this the http://moz.com/community/recommended http://www.distilled.net/ , http://www.portent.com/, http://evolvingSEO.com, Internetmarketingninjas.com , SEERinteractive.com , Then get a recommendation from them it seems to me that to me If you hire somebody and they are on Odesk and nothing against Odesk however there are some people that honestly have no business calling themselves SEO's Or whatever they're calling themselves my opinion would be to create a relationship with one of the recommended companies and get them to then that your new employee that way you'll start off strong and finish strong. You're looking to spend a decent amount of money, and I'm not trying to prevent you from hiring people I think that's a fantastic thing you're doing however you need somebody that knows what the other people are doing to tell you hire this guy or don't. Some one you can test with http://www.distilled.net/u/home/ I hope this is going to help to you sincerely, Thomas

Got a link building question here
Thanks for the answer. I will look into social media network and try to contact blog owners that way. Not sure if they own bunch of blogs and link to themselves.

E-commerce shopping cart abandonment question!
Hi Bryan, This is similar to the good, great, industry standard bounce rate questions for ecommerce. It depends on your products, promotions, cart friendliness, software performance etc. Like bounce rate, your cart abandonment rate will develop a track record over time and once your site performs consistently, you'll now what is good and when there is a problem. As a parent, you know when those two great looking kids of yours are not acting healthy. Similarly, you'll know when your site, cart etc. is not acting healthy either. I'm sure our cart abandonment rate is higher than average because of the large volume of heavy products we sell on our site. Once the customer sees the shipping cost at checkout, they balk and bounce. Our cart provider (Volusion) has been having functionality issues of all kinds since late February. That's a whole 'nother can of worms but suffice to say it has had a significant impact on cart abandonment.

Does anyone do SEO for a % of sales?
Why dont you look to hire an in-house SEO? May not be as cheap as option 'A' but if they are good will be cheaper than option 'B' plus they can add value in a wider sense - a good SEO will help improve wider inbound marketing efforts.
