If there is a small amount of duplicate content on the bottom of some pages there should not be a problem.  I have small cross-selling blurbs on the bottom of lots of pages on multiple sites.  These blurbs are generally small in word count when compared to the other content on the same page. Lots of people do this.  I think that google might view that as part of your "content wrapper". I'm not going to say percentages.  The more important thing is that the top content  on your pages is unique and substantive.

Utah Tiger I am assuming you are UtahTiger.net and you have a quality competitor who is UtahTiger.com and you are trying to insure people know the difference and equate you with the .net. If so, then I would go about it this way in terms of your on page. I would not put it in the title tag. I would see that from a customer point of view as odd. I would caution against trying to overdo it and have it on every page as well because it looks spammy. I would use an About Us or and About UtahTiger (title tag) with a brief who we are paragraph and then use an H1: There Is a Difference with UtahTiger.net or similar. for the content after the H1 I would tell the .net story. You could even then use an H2 that was: When you think of UtahTiger... Don't Forget the NET! Anything catchy will work for branding imprint in a customer's mind. That is what you want. If your domain really was UtahTiger.net, man, that would be easy: We're the Tiger you caught in the NET! That would be my approach. As to the SEO you hired, I would simply ask his rationale for the title tag and see if he has anything further for the strategy. Best,

I just thought of something else. This is slightly less critical but try to keep the file size of your page under 1mb. Some say 50kb but I think that's a little extreme in the age of broadband. The site I market is 1.1mb and loads in only 1.18 seconds. But do try to stay under 1mb because of mobile phones which are slower. (Unless you have a mobile version of your site, like I do) Also, make sure all of your code validates. http://validator.w3.org/

@ Istvan, I did email them tonight so hopefully I will get some answers. I will review the videos.  I also read the articles you suggested last night.  A lot of info to digest but I am sure it will eventually sink in.   I will see if I can go and meet with the SEO I found online at their office.  No communication in this relationship at all! @ SEO Brent, Yes no one will ever find me one these directories and most don't see to load very well. I think they are just going for links since I only have 4 root directory links right now.  I also thought that the number of links was important but I guess the relevancy part is just as important. I am going to have a sit down with them and it the channels of communication do not open up then it is time for a divorce. (I am leaning towards the firing though because the directories are not relevant and non of my competitors are on them, although most of the domain ranks were 40 or higher. Thank you.

Robert, Not even sure where I saw the 95,96 and 96 rankings on SEOmoz but the list said all the hundreds of links were made in the last day ( I think this was an error) I don't believe it was PA or DA I think it was some other metric but I can't find the page.  Basically I just searched the links on a competitor.  Anyway the PR or Google Page Rank tool I used had the sites on a scale of 1-10 and all 20 sites the competitor bought were ranked 0-1 with only one ranked a 2.  When I saw the 95,96 etc rank by SEOmoz I wanted to purchase the links right away since my competitor did but I thought I would ask questions first on here. As has been said it doesn't make a difference. Most people would think however that the link looks neater without the http://, so I'd say that's usually preferable.
