How would you address these URLS
Can I clarify a few things Andy, Firstly this is a sub-category page im talking about not a product, all our products are myurl.co.uk/product.html "https://www.thisismyurl.co.uk/ > spacehoppers > special-spacehopper - this is a pretty easy fix and something I would recommend on all eccomerce sites" Is this a suggestion to remove the /product/ section? Rich snippets are a later planned project

Product URL
Hi Gaston, Thanks for verifying my own thoughts on the matter. It is currently set up as the first one with breadcrumbs. At 400-500 products this is probably right. I may look to convert it for when we expand the product range in the future but I will keep it as it is for now. Thanks for the input

Emails from Moz display incorrect report information
Hey there! Sorry to hear you're seeing mixed information in your emails. Unfortunately this is hard to diagnose without taking a closer look at the report email and campaign in question. We'd be happy to take a look and help you sort it out if you email the Help team at help@moz.com with the details of your account!

Duplicate products - is this fix acceptable?
I should have also mentioned the linking structure within the site. All 23 versions of the product are linked from within 1 category that contains roughly 70 products. This is why the products must be kept separate. So users can browse the different specs alongside other products with similar comparable specs in the same category. An example can be found here: https://goo.gl/5L4cpK (its a little unordered at the moment but will be more organised soon) Take the 572 series, on the page above, it has 11 variations, the link currently filters the results on the page all 11 models are currently canonical'd to one version of the page. The filter also produces a category page that isn't linked on the website (https://goo.gl/c53sBY) This page is currently no-indexed. How is the following for a solution? Turn the 572 series filter link into a link to the 572 category page (https://goo.gl/c53sBY) Change this page to be indexed and make its description a detailed guide to the full 572 series listing all models, options etc as you suggest Make all the 572 products canonical of this super descriptive all singing and dancing page

Google ignoring Canonical and choosing its own
It's important to remember that Google in general takes canonical tags as more of a suggestion than a rule; they may decide that another page deserves to rank instead. Take a look at the version of the page that ranks: does it have more external or internal links pointing to it? You may be able to build up your canonical page by directing some additional link juice that way. If it's all the same to you which version ranks, it might be easier to just take the hint and make the ranking page the canonical page; otherwise, it may take some time to build up those off-page signals to get that version to rank.

Making a site mobile friendly
Hi, I can't see any reason why Google would object to this. Mobile and desktop sites are often very different and have different elements showing - in fact, I can't think of many where they are identical in terms of showing everything. My own site hides elements from Google via mobile (option via the theme) and I make good use of this as you don't want a huge page on mobile - it's about quick conversions and getting the point across on a much smaller screen. -Andy

Sitemap Contains Blocked Resources
Thanks for the latest responses guys I have researched it into the grave and it the way Magento generates the sitemap makes it impossible for me to exclude these URLS. I will just unblock them from robots, and make them all noindex. This seems to solve all problems, i will then block them when im 100% sure they are unindexed. Thanks Again chaps. Big help as always.

Same page Anchor Links vs Internal Link (Cannibalisation)
No worries Don't forget that both rel=canonical and internal linking can send good signals to Google in terms of which page is prominent. A 301 (if used) can be reversed out of if you ever need to do a semi-permanent redirect, but these days, rel=canonical does pretty much the same. -Andy

Social Media / Articles
Greetings! Sounds like you have done some good already done and plenty of work ahead of you. Looking at your plan, I have a few suggestions that may help. 1. On your articles, consider creating a how-to or demonstration video to go along with the articles. This will give you video content to go along with the blog that you can optimize separately and will make that article more "sticky". 2. I'd also consider something tangible people can download to accompany each article, like a guide, checklist, diagram, infographic or something else of value. Keep it short, like 1-2 pages at the most, and put your branding and contact info all over it. The more graphical the better to increase the sharability on social media. 3. In addition to homepage links to social sites, I'd consider them on every page. I'd also add social sharing buttons to your blog to make sharing the content easier for users. 4. At the end of your articles, suggest one or more products that tie in with the article as a call to action. Even stronger, offer a discount or bundled offer. 5. An outreach campaign to potential influencers can really boost your social media marketing efforts both now and long term. Find some bloggers or journalists, and start interacting with them in social media or even directly in email. I regularly solicit input and link to content of influencers, creating good will. That often turns into then doing the same in return, giving my great links and mentions in their content. That's 5 quick suggestions. I'm sure there is some more good input from the group. Best of luck!

Shortening URL's
Unless you're already not ranking well, changing URLs is a big risk, honestly. I don't think you're likely to see much gain, if any, by dropping one fairly sensible word/subfolder from your URL structure, the risk and work involved to set it up with 301s and the like far outweighs the benefit, which is questionable at best to start. I wouldn't do it unless I was burning it down and starting over.

Navigational Change
Assuming the links you add to the top navigation are followable href links I think this sounds like a good idea for the reasons you state, as well as sounding more mobile and tablet friendly. It would be good to see the site though.

Page/Website Structure
Cheers Everett. You have definitely reset my thinking, id started to make it over complex for myself. The content for the resolution / category pages will create a lot of duplicate issues due to the unavoidable similarities, i will take a combination of solutions provided here and try to consolidate resolution and capacity into broader categories that can be written about as you suggest with less overlap. I will look to no-index smaller categories that would be thin and cause issues but remain essential. I will also stick to my plan and consolidate the "types of widget" onto the main widget page. This will move them a step up the hierarchy and allow me a wider scope of content on the main parent page. All product urls are homepage.co.uk/product.html by default so shouldnt cause issue in multiple urls. I have also implimented automatic canonical tags on all cateogry and products to combat any accidental duplications.
