Are there ANY Joomla! e-commerce sites are built well and SEO friendly?  From everything I am reading and seeing there are not.

Well my question is "is there a better and more seo friendly option for building an e-commerce site in Joomla!?"

Let's just take for granted that the site must be built in Joomla!

The reason for my question is because I have encountered challenges with e-commerce + Joomla! such as this:

I am working on a site that has a HUGE number of duplicate pages due to ECWID ecommerce platform.  The site is built with Joomla!  How can I rectify this situation?  The pages also show up as "external " links on crawls...  Is it the ECWID platform?  I have never worked on a site that uses this.

Here is an example of a page with the issue (there are 6280 issues)

thanks for your response...  I can see how Ecwid would be nice for functionality but the SEO issue as you stated being "difficult/impossible to manage" poses a serious dilemma for sites with products that require SEO to sell.

I am also interested in others' recommendations and hope there are some.

From my experience in working with clients who have Joomla! website platforms, they are using the ECWID e-commerce plug-ins and I don't particularly care for it.  There seems to be issues with duplicate content and very nasty urls...

Please give me your suggestions regarding which type of Plug-in would be best to use for a NEW Joomla! e-commerce website.  I am experienced in Drupal and Wordpress but hardly know anything regarding Joomla! development.

First off I would ask the client what products they have the highest margins for and also which are their best sellers.  Then ask your client which other products they would like to sell more of right away (ask them to prioritize).  Take those lists and go from there.

Which do you think has more SEO or SMO impact?  Google plus votes, Facebook Likes, or Facebook shares?

I am having difficulties installing (and getting it to work) google analytics to Joomla! 2.5.8 site.  I have it working on some sites but then not on others even though I have installed it the same.  Is there a recommended or easy way to do this that works?
