What is the best E-commerce Solution / Plug-in for Joomla! ? ? ?

From my experience in working with clients who have Joomla! website platforms, they are using the ECWID e-commerce plug-ins and I don't particularly care for it.  There seems to be issues with duplicate content and very nasty urls...

Please give me your suggestions regarding which type of Plug-in would be best to use for a NEW Joomla! e-commerce website.  I am experienced in Drupal and Wordpress but hardly know anything regarding Joomla! development.

I am a long-time Joomla! user and looked into this issue last year around this time. At that time (much may have changed since), the e-commerce solutions available for Joomla was a messy landscape. I tried a few different solutions, but did not like them. When I arrived at Ecwid, I found it super easy to install and use, both for myself and my client. YES the urls are messy - hopefully they clean this system up soon - and YES their SEO is really difficult/impossible to manage... but I went with it for ease of actual commercial functionality. I will say it is still really nice to use and the development team uses user feedback to show what's on deck for implementation. Not sure it is still the right choice... maybe something better has come along? Interested in others' recommendations.

thanks for your response...  I can see how Ecwid would be nice for functionality but the SEO issue as you stated being "difficult/impossible to manage" poses a serious dilemma for sites with products that require SEO to sell.

I am also interested in others' recommendations and hope there are some.

I hate Joomla and that’s the reason I rarely take joomla projects in!

Joomla usually generates URLs with special characters that sometimes create duplication content on the website. I usually redirect 301 to actual pages so there should be no problem!

Well my question is "is there a better and more seo friendly option for building an e-commerce site in Joomla!?"

Let's just take for granted that the site must be built in Joomla!

The reason for my question is because I have encountered challenges with e-commerce + Joomla! such as this:

I am working on a site that has a HUGE number of duplicate pages due to ECWID ecommerce platform.  The site is built with Joomla!  How can I rectify this situation?  The pages also show up as "external " links on crawls...  Is it the ECWID platform?  I have never worked on a site that uses this.

Here is an example of a page with the issue (there are 6280 issues)

Are there ANY Joomla! e-commerce sites are built well and SEO friendly?  From everything I am reading and seeing there are not.
