Do links from between common sites you run count as "bad" links?
Liam, There's no problem with the links as long at they're nofollowed. You can let the client know that sitewide followed footer links from a network of sites when out of practice as an SEO techique back in the dark ages. As long as the client doesn't think of them as helping the algorithmic results of the other sites and only thinks of them as a way to send referral traffic to the other sites, they'll be in good shape.

The effect of a links from a search engine?
Yes, These sort of links may hurt your website, you need to remove or let it place nofollow under the link tag. My bet is to remove only. It's not going to help, single link is enough from 15 links .

Image alt tags shouldn't contain keywords?
I've been informed recently that keyword within your image alt tags can be a trigger for penguin if you have your keyword mentioned too often on the page. I don't think that keywords in your alt tag should be a problem. The alt tag is intended to give essential information about your image to someone who is using a screen reader because they are visually impaired. So, your alt tag should contain words that describe the image. That might be keywords it might not be keywords. Just be accurate. Google is not going to slap you because of your alt tags. if you have your keyword mentioned too often on the page. Here is the problem. Fix this.

Does Google drop links from page rank N/A sources?
For most purposes, OSE works very well and provides a great amount of detail about each link--plus, it is included with your membership. It's your best place to start and though it takes some time to feel comfortable with the metrics, the more you use it the better you'll understand it.

After Receiving a "Googlebot can't access your site" would this stop your site from being crawled?
Hi there - I'm not 100% sure without looking, but I do know that depending on where you get your PR it might be "toolbar pagerank" which is not updated often, and not current to what your actual PR is. Did the other pages have any PR before? But as Mike said, I doubt this has caused an actual drop in PR. -Dan

Can any one recommend some good up to date resources?
Thanks guys I try to keep up on the followings on a few forum sites along with some youtube subscriptions, I been using them to teach myself what I can. I'm actually more of a web developer than a SEO but my boss is wanting me to do a more on the SEO side. I enjoy both side to my job and I'm not intending on giving up on either any-time soon unless they have no need for an apprentice anymore. I'm having more of an issue with practical application at the minute, I get time during the week to do my research but I also have to attempt to improve some sites I'v created, I like to think I'm doing a good job on them (I'm probably not haha) but I'm starting to struggle with things like how to do effective link analysis which isn't something I feel like I can read about and then know what I'm doing. I learn best by watching and doing which I'm finding hard within the smoke and mirrors that is SEO haha.
