any links you can get daily, Are probably not worth anything, if you can just get a link on demand then why would google value it?

I am not sure, as many sites do the redirect then the 404, I asume that search engines handle it ok, but I think it better to be safe. I like things to be done properly at my end i dont like to rely on others to fix the problem.

First thing i noticed, there is no links from your blog to your home page. it looks to google that the blog is a sub site. make sure every page in your site links to the home page. in theory you should link to every page from your home page and back to the home page from every page and no cross linking to give your homepage maximum link juice, but of cause that would not be user frendly, but you should have that in mind when thinking about linking. 
Without getting too complicated make sure ever page in your blog has a link to the hoome page

I cant see a redirection doing this, i would put the redirection back, it is more likely some other reason.

I doubt just having a some ads on your partner sites will create competition, as for duplicate content, best not to have any duplicate content, but if it does not add up to a large proportion of you pages content then i would not be concerned.
If you have a page with 5 paragraphs of text, and one of them exists elsewhere, I would not worry.

I have seen just in the last few weeks where using absolute url has got me a link. I wrote a youmoz article with a link to my website, it has been copied and has the link in it. Of cause being on SEOMoz, I have to use a absolute url back to myself
I don’t usually use absolute links on my own site, I think search engines almost always know who copied who.
I agree with rob, but I will add, a good screen scraper will remove a canonical tag, but removing absolute links is not so easy, as you then have broken links, also I believe if you have image in the article linking back to you, search engines will know who the real owner is, same with css, js and a number of other refs. Screen scrapers rarely get credit for these reasons as well as the fact that if your site has a lot of duplicate, then it is obvious that you are the one coping It’s either the one site is copied from many locations or many locations have copied from the one site.

It is just letting you know ther ios a canonical, not that there is a problem, It is good to know that page has a canonical, as if in the wrong page could cause big problems. Dr Pete once canonicaled his whole site to teh home page, if he had looked at his notices he may have clicked on sooner.

I would not redirecet all to the home page, they will be ignored if you 301 redirecet onm mass to the one page.

You really do need to look at each link comming into the siite, look at the link text and the page it comes from and decide a good relevant page to send it to.

i doubt if you will get $360 worth of traffic. I think if you are going to spend money, you will be better of going for PPC, at least you know you will have to get clicks or you want have to pay.

Yes, but the rank of them will be less because they are split, so he has doubled the links he can give but at half the value.

I dont think they have much value at all. If any one can get a link buy having a press release then i doubt that SE's give them much value if any.

If you were anouncing the new release of the latest iPhone in a place where not anyone gets a press release and it gains plenty of links them it will have value, but 99.995 of press leases are just not going to do anything.

Only no follow if you think that pages your linking to are of very low quality and may damage your reputation. No follows will not save you any link juice, they just don’t give it to the linked page.
You may want to add a description for each links, that will help your rankings, rather than a no-follow

i should also add, i was putting location in the title of the google places, worked well, but now they review them much more closly. i get supspened along with all my clients that i control. not just those that I did the trickk with. It took about 6 weeks to get back on.

Dan is correct you need a 301 to correct the problem

Seems like you are trying to create friendly urls. Depending on what server you are using this can be very easy. If you are using a Microsoft server you can create the freindlly ursls along wuth the 301 redirects simply with a wizard.

I did this i had "product city " as the title, it worked for a long time, but google have steped up their review of thes listings and my account was supsened. It ttok aboy 6 weeks to get back online. this was not just for te offending places but all my listings for all my clients.

so i advice dont do it.

There is no garentee that a 301 will pass links juice.

If you try to redirecet one website tothe other there is a good chance it will not pass link juice unless it is the same content. meaning switching domains.

simpley 301 redirecting to the home page with also see the links dissmissed.

Thyere is a matt cutts video thats points out that you can not take it for granted that they will pass the link juice, it has to be an honest legit rerason to redirect.

I tested your site with the Bing SEO Toolkit, and it does not bring up a violation as it used to, so you can say that neither Bing or Google have a problem iwth cross domain canonical

If I understand you, you have 2 seperate pages for desktop and mobile?

i have not done a lot on mobile, but i wouyld think this is a dupliccate content problem,

The way i do a handle mobile, is with css and the vieport tag

@media only screen and (max-width: 320px)

    }

this way you can resize and change layout depending on the screen size.

you will run into canonicall problems if you start using caps.

Since the pags are aspx, it is running on a IIS server. I would install the IIS url rewrit module if its not alrerady installed. And force lowercase very easy interface

Also there are really easy url rewrite solutions included in the module, a lot easier then rewiting the atucal urls.

A tip. take a copy of the web.config file after, just incase you overwrite it later and lose of your rewrites
