Hello,
My client has a robots.txt file which says this:
User-agent: *
Crawl-delay: 2
I put it through a robots checker which said that it must have a **disallow command**. So should it say this:
User-agent: *
Disallow:
crawl-delay: 2
What effect (if any) would not having a disallow command make?
Thanks
Hello,
I need some tips I think. I create content for my clients blog through research and I try to understand fully their product or service so that I can write about it and promote it. But is this enough, do you think, to be able to write good quality content? I will obviously never be as knowledgeable as they are about their product or service. Does anyone have any tips or approaches for writing content in areas they are unfamiliar with? What do others do to create blog posts for clients?
Thanks
Hello,
I have opened a ticket and attached example documents.
Hi,
Thanks for replying. I think the problem for me is when I copy the graphics onto a word document and it becomes unreadable. Any suggestions to do this better would be great.
Hi,
I also think that too. The quality of the print is quite poor after export.
Hello,
I also have a similar problem. Please can you tell me if having duplicate page titles in Moz is an issue as I also have rel= canonical in place.
Thanks
Thanks Oleg. There is a product title and a description underneath. The product title is an H2 tag. Is it ok to have a H1 and H2 tag saying the same thing i.e. "picture frame"?
On the category pages e.g. "gifts" I can see that it might be ok to have the H1 breadcrumbs becuase there are no other words, but on the product pages there is the opportunity to use the product name as an H1 but at the moment it is an H2 tag and the H1 tag is in the breadcrumbs. Should this be changed or is it ok?
THanks
A client has an e-commerce site and she doesn't want a page title on the products page. She has breadcrumbs though. Her website developer suggests putting the H1 on the breadcrumbs.
So: products> Gifts > picture frame with h1 tags round the word "picture frame".
Is this ok to do? Or is it a bad thing for SEO purposes?
Thanks
Thanks Tim. I will def check these out.
I know people have asked this before and I have searched online for good resources. I have never created an infographic and would like to find some good resources relating to social media trends. Does anyone know a reliable online resource specifically for this?
I've found this: http://pewinternet.org/Reports/2013/Social-Media-Update/Main-Findings.aspx
Is there anything else you would recommend?
Thanks
Thanks for your suggestions. The client owns the domain name so will consider all your suggestions.
Thanks Paddy. Moonfruit say that "Because of the structure of our software, it is not possible to transfer a site that is built using our software to an external company. All sites built using our software need to be hosted on our server"
Hi,
Thanks. She wants to move from Moonfruit to Weebly but Weebly do not allow 301's from one domain to another domain only from the same domain so I don't think we can do 301's. So she will lose all of the SEO on the old sites I believe as a result. She is weighing up cost of all the websites versus one website cost.
Hello,
A client has an "umbrella" website which links to 4 other websites which all rank well. However, she wants to bring them all under the one website to save running costs. Do you think that is a good idea? I believe that she will lose al the benefits of having 4 successful websites linking and all the benfits that brings.
Thanks
I know I being a bit daft here so bear with me....
I am using the rank tracker to track changes to keywords over time. The "track History button" is clicked to track these keywords. But when I download the CSV, the columns for last week, last month etc are empty. Only the latest column is populated. I believe I set this up last month. Shoudn't those columns hold the tracked rankings from this time? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your comments.
I'm really sorry for asking this question yet again. I have searched through previous answers but couldn't see something exactly like this I think.
There is a website called example .com. It is a sort of umbrella company for 4 other separate domains within it - 4 separate companies.
The Home page of the "umbrella" company website is example.com. It is just an image with no content except navigation on it to direct to the 4 company websites.
The other pages of website example.com are the 4 separate companies domains. So on the navigation bar there is :
Home page = example.com
company1page = company1domain.com
company2page= company2domain.com etc. etc.
Clicking "home" will take you back to example.com (which is just an image).
How bad or good is this structure for SEO? Would you recommend any changes to help them rank better? The "home" page has no authority or links, and neither do 3 out of the 4 other domains. The 4 companies websites are independent in content (although theme is the same). What's bringing them altogether is under this umbrella website - example.com.
Thank you
I've just seen this post: http://moz.com/community/q/where-are-the-custom-reports-in-the-new-moz
Any idea when this facility will come? The button to switch back to the "old version" isn't there.
