301 Direct with a deleted domain newbie
i would not worry about PR, all pages have some PR and all is usefull. i would make sure none of tthe links come from sites that may harm, you spam or porn sites. If they have little PR and are not relevant, then i would not worry about them, but as long as they are not spam paid links they will not harm you. This page may exlain a bit more abount pr. http://thatsit.com.au/seo/tutorials/a-simple-explanation-of-pagerank

Is there some tool or person that can review my site and tell me what to improve on?
Matt, no offense, but this is all very basic stuff that you must know very well before starting to do any type of SEO. People here usually discussing somewhat more advance topics. As I understand you are expert in dog training. Imagine person coming to the professional dog training forum and asking umm how to tell the difference between the stud and the bitch. File Manager in Cpanel. 99% of Internet providers use Cpanel. I would assume GoDaddy is using it too. So all you have to do is login to your GoDaddy account and go to Cpanel. If you do not know how to do it, I would suggest calling GoDaddy tech support or reading up their help files. Once you click on the File Manager, it would look like File explorer in windows, but only for your website. Click on Upload file button, pick the file to upload and you are done. I have attached the screenshot of CPanel I am not trying to discourage you but if you have no budget to hire someone else and do have time to learn. I would suggest digging into Goddady help files, calling their support or just using Google to figure out how to manage your site. pUwXo.png

Okay how do I fix this cannibalization error?
Howdy, This is a common problem: You link out to your popular post, and they all contain the keyword you are trying to rank for, and this causes cannibalization problems. 1. One solution is to change the title of your posts, or at least the links going out to them. So if you run a shoe store, you might drop the "shoes" from the outgoing links and truncate all the links to "Nike Mens" "Adidas Womans" etc. 2. If you want your homepage to rank for this keyword, it's not a problem. That said, I've seen a lot of instances of de-optimizing these sitewide links by removing keywords actually show an improvement in rankings. You can try experimenting by changing the keyword (or adding a nofollow) to these links and see what happens. 3. No, not at all. As long as the page you want to rank higher is ranking higher, this just means you own more of the SERPs, and will get a higher click-through. If you want to change this, it often helps to add a partial-match link from the 2nd page to the first, to indicate to both Google and users what the correct page should be. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.

Is there a point in ranking non-competitive terms?
Adsense has worked everywhere for me. Some better than others, but if I experiment with placement and appearance I can improve the yield. If I had a page that really sucked with Adsense then I would be looking for a pay per impression network such as Burst or TribalFusion.

Question | Blogger, Godaddy, HostGator
I don't understand. If I do a 301 from my blog posts to this new website, where will I direct it to if all the posts are on the blog??? I also need help with my posting. If google has already indexed my blogger posts as well as the posts from my domain, should I redirect all the posts from the blogger to my domain using the 301 or do I do something else?

Appropriate Use of Rel Canonical
Hi Zmbmatt, Looks like you do have a Canonical URL tag on your page, likely from an SEO extension you're using. It's on line 12 of your index's HTML: href='http://pcpowerspeed.blogspot.com/' rel='canonical'/> It points to http://pcpowerspeed.blogspot.com**/ **(notice the trailing slash). The reason for this is that the version of the URL with the trailing slash and the version of the URL without the trailing slash are technically two distinct URLs, and this tag indicates to search engines that the preferred version is the URL with the trailing slash. This is a common usage of the canonical tag, and is appropriate. If you add a slash to the end of the target URL when you run the On-Page Optimization report, it should do away with the error. Hope this helps and good luck! Thanks, Anthony

Blogger and labels
Labels are used to categorize your posts, used correctly they can be helpful. Instead of re-iterating what these posts say, I'll just point you to them: http://support.google.com/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=44498 http://blogger-hints-and-tips.blogspot.com.au/2010/04/categorising-your-posts.html http://www.blogdoctor.me/2007/06/everything-about-labels-in-blogger.html

What the - SERP?
No its just a regular micro niche site focused on one thing with posts that are relatively old. Nothing out of the ordinary; I should expect a drop then.

Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization
I'm wondering if SEOmoz is overreacting to some of my link text, or if I should alter the text? When you are targeting long tail key phrases, your main phrase is likely to be part of many longtail phrases. In my case the homepage targets 'company formations' and the link that's been flagged in the On-Page Report is "Prices for Irish Limited Company Formation" which isn't that close of a match. It's a link in my main navigation, so whatever I change it to chances are the wording will be similar to key phrases I am targeting on other pages. Also, making sure the link text makes most sense to users is a priority! Thanks Martin, your reponses have clarified this a bit.

Question on backlinks indexing
I would be cautious with doing too much article marketing - you're at risk that search engines will see your article on multiple sites, deem it duplicate content, and then decide your article on a submission site should rank instead of the version on your own site. With the Penguin release, Google is also taking a closer look at links from article submission sites - I wouldn't be surprised if those links become lower and lower value as time goes by. Definitely let Google discover your backlinks on its own - grow your link profile too quickly and they'll take a close look at your site to see if any of those links look suspicious. There are plenty of more valuable ways to grow your link profile. Mike King recently had a post on this topic at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-noob-guide-to-link-building - I suggest you check it out for new ideas on how to build links to your site.
