What to do about this subdomain for SEO?
Thanks for clarifying and explaining Cristian. I know the speed is awful! I've just recently inherited the project so I'm trying to redo some of the pages aesthetically and work on speed issues in the near future as well. Thanks

How would you handle these pages? Should they be indexed?
I'd also choose the best page (i.e. with highest traffic) and canonicalize the other pages to show Google you know about the duplicate content. Then use noindex, follow but not for all pages - you want to get found in search somehow. Though, employees probably know about the discounts and have some other channel how to get to the page.

I have a client in Australia that is going to set up a website that is in Chinese to service their Asian customer base (Indonesia, Singapore, HK, China). What domain should they use?
Hi, I'd recommend getting a ccTLD (.cn) and hosting in China or Hong Kong. Also localizing your website with the help of native professionals. Pros: This is the clearest sign to Baidu (The predominant search engine in China) and to all search engines in general. Cons: The domain authority of the new site will be completely independent of the current site and it might be expensive Now, if you wish to use a gTLD and put the Chinese version of the site in a subdirectory. That's fine too. Just remember to add the Hreflang tags. Pros: Less expensive Cons: Chinese search engines and internet users favorite sites that are hosted locally.

What is the best way to rank for variations of your business name?
Hi Mandi, I have another suggestion but it won't come free of cost but there are 99.99% chances that your conversion will go up. Run an adwords search campaign for only branded terms and it won't cost you much but your bran visibility will increase and you will always come on top and last but not least you can show any offer/coupons at the top of search results. If you need any help please let us know we will guide you. Hope this helps. Thanks

What's a good WPM for a copywriter?
Logan nailed the answer. Quality over content always. Even if you have good metrics, you may not have a baseline to compare to it yet. One way is hiring an independent contractor to produce 5 or so articles and compare metrics and cost and go from there. It's difficult to do, but you should always be testing! Good luck.

Duplicate content. Competing for rank.
Q1: Easier said than done, but definitely worth the time to rewrite the "chunks," especially if they are descriptions. I can see if it's something like safety information, where you'd actually want it to be known it's coming from a trusted source. But, descriptions should be rewritable. If not, you probably don't want to pass the copy off as your own, so best to keep it separate and say something like "site XYZ has this to say..." Also, if it can't be rewritten, gauge how much content is unique to each page, and consider what else can be written about the cars to help balance out the ratio of unique to copied content. Q2: Make sure the dealer's website has self-referencing canonicals if that's the original source of the information.

Thanks for your feedback Kristina - I ended up rediscovering addshoppers in this instance, which I think I first discovered via Moz quite a while back

One domain - Multiple servers
You can find more details about how a reverse proxy works here. Regarding the setup, unfortunately that's outside of my wheelhouse - we had to rely on the tech support team to help out with that.

Thought FRED penalty - Now see new spammy image backlinks what to do?
Hi Zach, Just to quickly add to what Nicholas has said, I have seen instances where links to a site via hotlinked images can cause ranking problems. It sounds like you're on top of it with the disavow file, so just keep an eye on things and update that as you find new links. If you've been hit by the Fred update, that does seem like something different, but again it sounds like you're doing the right things that would help with SEO anyway. It could be worth comparing your site and it's features to other sites that seem to have been affected and see if you can spot any similarities. Here is a list from Search Engine Roundtable. Cheers. Content Help for Dealers
The first thing I would do is focus on answering the questions people have. You can do this by typing in a product category (like motorcycles) at http://answerthepublic.com/. Based on a white paper released by STAT there are several types of questions that populate featured snippets at a faster rate, so I would focus on answering the what, why, and how questions first, and answer those questions in either Sounds like you're going to have some serious CMS limitations but hopefully this helps you add content in a meaningful way to your client's website.

Disavow links old links
Hi there, If you're seeing the links reporting in a tool search as Open Site Explorer or Majestic, it could be that they crawled the link and since then, it has been removed. So I'd always trust looking at the site itself. Also make sure you check the Google cache of the page to see if the link is there somewhere. If you can't find the link, I wouldn't worry about the disavow file, but keep a note of the sites that you're concerned about just in case you do need to disavow in the future for some reason. Cheers. Paddy
