Hi imjonny123, Yes thanks, hope your doing well too. if you have the same content you have already on the main domain, no issues in using noindex and you will avoid duplicate content issues at the same time.

Can’t put a finger on, what is causing 12 year domain, SEO optimized and decent link profile to rank lower than other less superior domains.
I agree the speed is much less, but I also have more on page aggregated data, and different layout that includes images. Don't you think now days google doesn't know that some complex sites like mine with lots of data will be heavier VS more primitive designs? Now it is a difference in philosophy, I like to provide consumers with lots of info VS making a site fast but with a limited info for consumer to absorb. I personally question myself on the amount of outgoing/internal links from that page, that might be one of the causes and a bit over optimization as James mentioned above this post.

Is the URL Matching the Page Title Important?
Hi Luke Griffiths-Jones, The url reflecting the Page title is a good practice and so is maintaining your URl´s as short as possible. In your case you have another option that would keep your url reflecting the page title and at the same time keeping it short (though i wouldn´t worry to much about 80 char more on this https://moz.com/community/q/maximum-length-of-the-url-for-seo-75-115 and https://moz.com/blog/should-i-change-my-urls-for-seo https://www.tumbleandhide.com/newton-leather-wallets-card-holders But if you want to choose between your two options i would go for the first https://www.tumbleandhide.com/collections/newton-leather-wallets-card-holders as the latter doesn´t include some important keywords.

Safari and IE killing our mobile ranking
Hi jgodwin, I think the default search engine on Safari would still be Google Search so you would be all right there. And as ios and android cover more than 99% of world wide operating systems (https://www.theverge.com/2017/2/16/14634656/android-ios-market-share-blackberry-2016) that would leave under 1% not covered. For the few Microsoft phones out there, in this 1%, you can off course optimize for bing https://ignitevisibility.com/how-is-bing-seo-different-than-google-seo/ Good luck, hope this helps

International website sharing with .com/.au/.uk
Hello Steph, I'm assuming you have read about hreflang tags. This is the correct action for your site. On each domain that you have, you will need to have three link elements in the source code on each page. For example, on the homepage of every domain name, you would need the following tags: And on every other page on the site, you would need to replace the web address with the corresponding address of each language version of the page. This tells search engines the relationship between each page, and the language of each. By using hreflang tags correctly, you will not be penalised for having duplicate content on each page. That said, make sure that any text that should be different on each international version is indeed different. Ensure things like localised spelling, currency, and any country-specific information are specific to each country. I hope this helps.

Meta Description Length is Doubling (Like Twitter)
Honestly not sure on why it's changing. The short answer is that I think these are more real-time than we usually realize (and only notice when we're staring at one), but a bit odd that it's going from regular to long for the same query. Usually, changes I see are query-dependent. Could indicate that Google is evaluating the content on the page or the intent of the query, but it's hard to say.

Can Google index the text content in a PDF?
Yes they can crawl and index also the contents of PDF's and they are doing that extensively. Its nothing new actually. As long as the contents of the PDF is not only images but also text they will be able to scan the actual text. Interesting article with tips to make your PDF's SEO-friendly: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/pdf-seo-best-practices/59975/ Cheers, Cesare

Google maps SEO
Hi Rayflex! There are two ways to approach a good question like this, and it's often best to take both: Do a competitive audit, using a spreadsheet like this free one so that you can identify where your top competitor is strong that you are less strong: https://moz.com/blog/basic-local-competitive-audit. Then, feel free to come back to the community with any findings or questions that arise from that process. Additionally, you're welcome to show us the listing, if you have the authority to do so. If you can, please provide a link to your business' website and tell us the exact keyword phrase you're trying to rank for. It's perfectly fine if you're not able to share this info, but without it, the best the community can do is make guesses about which factors may be holding your business back from the local pack rankings you're hoping to achieve.

Adding your sitemap to robots.txt
Just add the sitemap index file to your robots.txt and let them figure it out from there. You basically just want to point them to your sitemaps and they're able to do that from just the sitemap index. So there's not really a need to list all of them in there.

Homepage optimized for main keyword - adding the same keyword to category
Yes, I understand this. But if we are talking about a concrete example. The categories have been divided into 5. All of the listings belonging to a category have the category name in the url. Now testing it shows, that if the main keyword which you are trying to optimize the homepage for is not in any of the LISTING urls, the homepage does not rank with this keyword well. My question: If my homepage is optimized for **"Prague clubs" and I name one of the categories to something similar (Best Prague clubs etc) and include the "Prague clubs" in the urls of the listings, will this benefit homepage ranking for the keyword or not? ** It would look like this: homepage (optimized for prague clubs, showing latest listings ) - category 1 (best prague clubs www.example.com**/best-prague-clubs) Listing url (www.example.com/prague-clubs/listing-123) .** Will this benefit the ranking of the homepage or it will actually make it weaker? When we used URLs for listings like www.example.com/prague-club-listing-id it was easy to rank the homepage for the keyword. After moving to category URLS (/category-name/listing-id) homepage is not ranking (yet categories rank). My issue is that i optimized homepage for the main keyword, category keywords are a lot smaller volume ones.

LinkedIn Versus Facebook for B+B Advertising
Hi, Very interesting question indeed, I had to face also a couple of times. Why don't you do the one thing (LinkedIn) without neglecting the other one ** in a smart way (Facebook Remarketing)?** Short answer (and my gut feeling): LinkedIn is probably going to bring you the better actionable leads, but also the more expensive ones for sure...But you still could leverage the huge user base of Facebook at very reasonable costs, i.e. doing Remarketing on Facebook. We use Facebook mainly only for Remarketing purposes as we found out that it has an incredibly good cost/conversion ratio. Doing that we can leverage a $ spent on advertising, e.g. on AdWords even better and very efficiently. I usually pair AdWords campaigns with Facebook Remarketing. You can do Remarketing based on visitors to your website (as a whole) or only particular pages of it (even excluding the ones that have already converted, e.g. sent you the contact form if you like) or you can build up a (Remarketing) list (called Custom Audience at Facebook) of prospects that you will deliver your ads to, based on a list of e-mails you provide in the backend. Also, we have specific lists of contacts in each industry, however we don't have their personal emails, only their business emails. This can be a problem you are right but check it out. To build a Custom Audience (list) on Facebook doesn't cost anything and the data won't be used otherwise. If your Remarketing list has a reasonable size in your eyes (minimum of 20 needed by Facebook) give it a try and evaluate the results... A concern I have is that most people do not frequently check their LinkedIn account so this may be very limiting in terms of advertising. Depends also very much on the target audience, etc. I guess but if they don't klick on your ads its not not going to cost you anything either. --> Its often difficult to predict everything: Check out things for your particular case with a reasonable budget in a reasonable time frame. Evaluate the results and then go with the one that delivers the better results for you. So your decision will be data driven and not just a gut feeling. Hope this is going to help you a little bit. Cheers, Cesare
