  • Hi Andrew, That's a pretty interesting question and quite difficult to definitely answer (hence a lack of replies I'd guess.) Just to clarify, which rule in the robots.txt are you referring to; Disallow: / or Noindex: /? So if the page is disallowed from crawling then my best guess is it would have the same impact as a link being no-followed i.e you are saying to GoogleBot please don't crawl or count this page...you're not vouching for it and perhaps don't want it to be indexed. If you are saying you are linking to a page which has a Lastly, specifically with regards to Link Juice, you might find this old post from Matt Cutts interesting: https://www.mattcutts.com/blog/pagerank-sculpting/ It was written in 2009 about the idea of "PageRank Sculpting" or Link-juice funelling. The official line from Matt back then was that it wasn't really a thing, and as he says, Google will have got a lot smarter about assessing the value of internal/external links 10 years on whether they have a nofollow property or not. He also advises that you don't worry about it and in his own imitable way, focus more on creating great content Belated happy new year, and I hope this sort of helps! Nick

  • Hi there, Jo from the Help Team here. Moz's Spam Score is the percentage of sites with similar features we've found to be penalized or banned by Google. To improve this score I would recommend reading our guide which explains the 27 factors used to make up this score. You can then look at your site and investigate areas you would like to improve on your site: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-score Best of luck! Jo

  • Thank you for both of your answers. So from my understanding no need to worry if you have a few bad links, google will ignore those and better work on attracting good links than trying to remove those bad links, correct ?

  • Hi there, Hope you are well. Yeap, Moz's metrics are updated more frequently than monthly. Around May this year, there was a really big update in OpenSite explorer, now named: Link explorer. That update came with awesome features and improvements, two of the most relevant: 1- Index being updated every 1-3 days. 2- A bigger index, over 20 times the size of the old OpenSite explorer You can find much more information in these resources: Moz's Link Data Used to Suck... But Not Anymore! The New Link Explorer is Here - Whiteboard Friday Link Explorer - Moz Help Guide Hope it helps. Best luck. GR

  • Hey Steve!  If you have specific questions about reported site crawl issues, you can shoot us an email to help@moz.com.  However if you are looking more for someone to show you how to fix them in Magento, you would need to reach out to Magento support or an SEO consultant to work through the issues as we unfortunately don't offer consulting.  Feel free to reach out to us at that email if you need assistance with the Moz toolsets. thanks

  • Hi Greg, At first sight, it seems to be an issue on where you are searching for that international sites. Keep in mind that Google, since over a year ago, takes your IP to localize our search. So, considering you're searching in the US for your UK site, it's possible that you're the issue there. Also, I'd take a deep dive at: That international configuration, it is one of the most complicated settings in SEO, In GSC, for the main site (.com) how much traffic is receiving from your other target countries. Are properly linked every site with the others? Crawling issues? It could probably be an issue that Googlebot isn't able to crawl entirely all sites. As always, when it comes to international, these resources come handy: Hreflang generator - Aleyda Solis International SEO - Moz Learning Center The Guide to International Website Expansion: Hreflang, ccTLDs, & More! - Moz Blog The International SEO Checklist - Moz Blog Best luck. • Hi Jeff: Happy to report that improved metrics are not caused by bots or any unusual spikes in traffic. So I think we are seeing a legitimate improvement. Last year we focused on UX improvements. Will focus on content and links this year in order to solidify our gains. Thanks for your input!! Alan

  • Hi there, As you say, it's always possible that Moz's bot considers duplicate content WHEN IT IS DUPLICATE!   You have to tell bots, such as Moz's and Google's, that those folders aren't just copies of the other, that are also country targeted. 1- Have you implemented hreflang tags properly? 2- I feel the need to say it, when using content for other countries, always try to adjust the content for the locals. It's well known that Australians, Americans and British people don't speak the same English. These resources always come handy in cases like this: Hreflang generator - Aleyda Solis International SEO - Moz Learning Center The Guide to International Website Expansion: Hreflang, ccTLDs, & More! - Moz Blog The International SEO Checklist - Moz Blog Best luck. Hope it helps. GR

  • It depends how many there are - if there are only a few then manually fetch them all in GSC and request a crawl one by one. If there are many you could create a page with them all listed as hyperlinks and perform a fetch with using "Crawl this URL and its direct links" They should be back in very soon. It's difficult to gauge the impact. If all internal linking and backlinks are still in place you there may be minimal damage if any.
