Rel-canonical vs Href-lang use for an international website.
-
I have a multi-country website that uses country subfolders to separate countries. When I run a Moz scan, I am getting canonical related alerts (this is probably related to some of our US content being duplicated on the other country websites).
Shouldn't I be using href-lang instead since I am telling search engines that a certain article in country B, is just a copy of the same article in country A?

Hi there,
As you say, it's always possible that Moz's bot considers duplicate content WHEN IT IS DUPLICATE!
You have to tell bots, such as Moz's and Google's, that those folders aren't just copies of the other, that are also country targeted.1- Have you implemented hreflang tags properly?
2- I feel the need to say it, when using content for other countries, always try to adjust the content for the locals. It's well known that Australians, Americans and British people don't speak the same English. These resources always come handy in cases like this:

Hope it helps.
