The scraper's canonical tag points to their own site. I just added canonical tags to our content. I hope we win out.

Mike, this comment you made is correct: "my understanding is that Google disregards everything after the "#" so there shouldn't be a duplicate content issue." If you do somehow see one of these getting indexed in Google then you have an issue, but I have not seen this happen.

I read your post at Mstoic Hemant and noticed your comment about Firefox 10. Since I couldn't get Dust-Me Spider to work in my current version of Firefox I tried downloading and installing the older version 10 as you suggested. When I did so, I received the message that the Dust-Me Spider was not compatible with this version of Firefox and it was disabled. We are considering purchasing the paid version of Unused CSS (http://unused-css.com/pricing) - Do you have any experience using the upgraded version? Does it deliver what it promises? Thanks!

Hey Nacny, Moosa recommends the simplest way. You can set Width, Height, Show faces, Border, Color, Stream You will get 2 codes Code 1: Javascript, you will have to place within your body. May be in footer or header Code 2: Where you wan to place it either in sidebar or footer or anywhere! That's a way! Regards

Your gut instinct is correct. Yes, it's entirely possible to crawl javascript. Is it still difficult to crawl? As far as I know, yes. So why put up that barrier if you don't have to?

Hi, As everyone had mentioned, I would also suggest using Yoast. With this plugin, you can simply go to SEO >>> Tags & Metas >>> Click on either Post Types / Taxonomies / Others and check the box to noindex/nofollow tags, pages and etc.  By doing so, it will help you avoid having duplicate content in a lot of ways. Another way to avoid duplicate content is go to Appearance >>> Editor >>> Go to both Category and Tag php and search for the_content and change it to the_excerpt.  This will make all the articles in your category into excerpts instead of showing the whole article.  This might be a little advance so be careful when editing the code as it can mess up your whole website. Now as for recommendations, I would suggest the following: Remove the meta widget on the right Remove the Menu widget on the right and add it to the top navigation.  As it will help visitors navigating the website. I would optimize the title tag.  I would include primary and secondary keywords in the title tag. I would also use descriptive text for the image alt

Yes your short robots.txt idea would create a huge problem. In your Magento admin if you click in the menu Catalog > URL Rewrite Management You will see the magento feature  that creates all the "pretty urls", in that page you will see a table. If get value from  Target path column and copy and paste after your site domain, for example domain.com/value_in_target_path... You'll see that the page loads fine, you don't want Google to rank those pages with the "messy" URL so that's why you need all those stuff in your robots.txt

I tend to agree with James in terms of bounce rate. Google tries to segment the most relevant result by country, so a low bouncerate outside your target market hopefully wouldn't hurt you much. That said, you can specify a target country in Google Webmaster Tools. Instructions are here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/62399?hl=en Using this setting doesn't ensure your website wont appear in foreign results, but it does give a "hint" to Google that the content isn't targeted for that region. I think partnering with design groups to offer their members free cards would be a good way to go. You can find groups of designers on just about very major social media / networking platform on the web. You can even try local groups from Meetup.com and elsewhere. You could partner with a design conference, or a graduate school... You could buy placement in a design-related newsletter, etc...

Hey Jason, First I would try Moz's SERP analysis tool. Run a report on the page that is ranking, then add the URL of the page that is not ranking, and compare the metrics between the two. Be sure to run a full report. Oftentimes in these cases, it's not on-page optimization that makes the difference, but backlinks, anchor-text, and site architecture that influence a keyword position in search results. So things I would look for in comparing these pages: What are the backlinks (diversity of sites, types of links, etc) Page Authority of each page Anchor text of all incoming links to each page Also, on the other end of the scale you may want to see if any of your pages are actually over-optimized. Too much exact match anchor text? Keyword stuffing? Regardless, hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.
