Hosting companies - recommendations?

Im shocked you've been having issues with dreamhost... I absolutely love them. I havent heard of the other hosting companies you've mentioned, but anything with "Seo" and "hosting" sounds like a gimmick to me.. If you are unsatisfied, I've also used hosting.com for some cf stuff we've had to do and they are pretty good.

Are you looking for a shared hosting, VPS, private server?
I have 2 VPS's and admin 3 private servers on Liquidweb.com with zero problems with the servers or getting support. The support questions were billing and modifications to the servers, not server related hardware or software issues.

I agree with Malachi in that I would be cautious about any host with "seo" in the name.
I have had good experiences with surpasshosting

I am with Malachi, I totally disagree about Dreamhost. Of the various shared hosting providers I have used, they are easily the best. Clean simple interface, less silly limits on things like email addresses, domains, and databases. And good, responsive customer support.

Dreamhost is solid. Outside of them HostGator is probably the next best best. I wouldn't use any of the ones you have listed.

If you don't need dedicated hosting, I really like tigertech.net. Sphinn runs on it, as does Matt Cutt's blog. It can handle heavy traffic and spikes from Digg and the like without a problem.
Looks like seohosting.com is a hostgator company. The rest I don't recognize in names, and at least one of them looks awfully keyword stuffed.

Seohosting.com is actually a hostgator company - and we're going with hostgator for this. These recommendations above came during the Distilled conference in New Orleans for reference. Thanks for all your feedback!
