      Hi everyone,

I'm trying to optimize our website and I'm not sure what's ideal for our URL structure.

We have two products: one of them is focused on B2C & the other one on B2B.
Our homepage is focused on the B2C product.

For our B2B product, I'm not sure what's ideal. The URL for our 'homepage' of the B2B product is ourdomain.com/software. We have different target groups for our B2B software, and therefore different pages on our website.

Which URL would be best to use for the keyword personal trainer software?
      1. ourdomain.com/software/personal-trainer-software
      2. ourdomain.com/software/personal-trainer

        My suggestion for B2C

        yourdomain.com/consumer/personal-trainer-software

        For B2B it can be

        yourdomain.com/business/personal-trainer-software

You can differentiate at category level to make your customer experience better for your visitors.

          Hi,

First of all I would like to let you know that having keywords in URL won't give any ranking boost. Second thing I would go with 'yourdomain.com/business/personal-trainer-software' it will be helpful for user to know about what the page is about.

          Thanks

If having an informational URL as you've proposed is helpful for the user to understand the page, then by default, it's also going to be helpful for SEO. Google's goal is to provide the best results for people, so indirectly, it does help to have topic-indicating URLs.

              Thanks for the replies!

I believe Google makes matching keywords bold in the URL, so it can be good for the CTR.

Which URL do you think is best for the keyword personal trainer software for both SEO purposes and CTR?

              yourdomain.com/business/personal-trainer-software
              yourdomain.com/software/personal-trainer-software
              yourdomain.com/software/personal-trainer

Seems like most people would recommend going for option 1?
