Google Analytics - adding tracking codes
-
Hi Guys
I have 3 top level domains that are targeting, NZ (co.nz) USA (com) and AU (com.au) content is the same across all 3 domains, however sorry if this sounds like a silly question but can I add a different tracking code for each site? So I can monitor each sites performance for each country?
Hope this makes sense!
Cheers

Hi Justin,
Sure, what I would do is create 3 different properties for all sites to make sure you can all track them separately. That is the easiest option to measure all sites.

Hi Justin
Per Martijn's response - this is definitely possible.
I would also make sure, if the content is the same, that you read up on hreflang tags and language tags so that search engines know that while this content is the same, it's serving different areas and regions. Regardless if it is the same language, it's meant for different regions. Here's more information from Google.
Also, you can create separate Google and Bing Webmaster Tools accounts for each of these sites, and country target them - here's Google and Bing specific information.
Hope this helps you target and track your audience a bit better - let me know if you have any questions - good luck!

Hi Martijn
Thanks for your help! Could you explain a bit more about what you mean in terms of creating different "properties" I'm quiet an ammature at all this lol
Cheers and thanks again

When you have a Google account you almost directly have a Google Analytics accounts. Accounts consists of different properties for different sites that you'd like to track. On top of that can properties include multiple views when data from the property can be filtered and drilled down.
