Trying to add google+ to a new campaign (remote-authentication.failure)
-
Hello thanks for the reply, I have no existing account associated. I am a new user with a new campaign and never connected G+, the only option I have is the blue "Connect to Google+" button.
-
Ok thank you, that's helpful. One more question, which of the following is the type of URL you're using?
A. https://plus.google.com/112544075040456048636
B. https://plus.google.com/+SEOmoz/
Thanks!

Me again, just wanted to give you a heads up that the G+ issue is a top priority with our Engineering team right now to get fixed. We'll let you know when it's resolved.Jen

I do not even get to the opportunity to put in a URL, As soon as I try to connect my google account using the blue button it takes me to google to confirm authorisation then gives me the error. The error then automatically dissapears after a few seconds and it is back to where i started with just the blue connect to google button being the only option.

Having same issue. Looking forward to a fix.

I read the Moz Health update and have been looking how to remove the personal page from my campaign settings and then add the business page link instead. There is really no way to know where to change the settings mentioned on this post. Can you update? Still can't add Google+ account.

Hi Kevin!
There should be a button next to your profile name that says "stop tracking" this is how you can disable tracking for your personal profile which will then allow you to add your business page URL above. Make sure to use the public URL and not the one you see while logged in.
Let me know if this helps!

Hi David,
Thanks for taking the time to help out. I couldn't find a "stop tracking" button anywhere, but I did change the Google+ profile link. Didn't fix the problem. I still can't connect to Google+. Any other ideas?

Hi Kevin
It appears this is a new rising issue with our connection to Google as I am not able to connect my own Google Analytics or Google+ page in my campaign. I've escalated this to our engineers to investigate and will keep you posted as soon as I hear back from them!
-
Hi Jen, has this issue been resolved yet? As I have the same problem. Cheers, Rob

hmmm... as a brand new user trying this site out, finding out that this issue has been going on, reported since Nov 2013, doesn't make too confident.
I can't add my G+ account either. Getting "remote-authentication.failure" and please don't come back with, what browser are you using and don't use Chrome.
No bueno.

Hello Kevin, Sara & all,
Thanks for checking in with us on this. As David mentioned, the authentication issues with Google Analytics and Google+ that we are seeing today are new, and unrelated to the issues we experienced back in November.
As for today's authentication issue, it's a top priority and we have several developers working on resolving it. I'll update this thread, or David will, as soon as we have a fix in place, which I am confident will be soon. Thanks for your understanding!

Hello again.
Authentications to Google Analytics and Google+ should be working fine now.
After troubleshooting this issue earlier today, we found that the authentication failures for GA and G+ were apparently due to erroneous responses coming back from Google. It appears we weren't the only ones experiencing this issue.
At any rate, things began to clear up around noon (US Pacific time), and periodic tests since then have all indicated that GA / G+ connections to Moz Analytics are working normally. Thanks for hanging in there, and please don't hesitate to contact our friendly Help team if you experience any further issues.

I still had problems connecting to my Google+ page. To fix it, I logged into Google+ account and then went to plus.google.com/apps. I disconnected the Moz app, then I returned to my Moz campaign to reconnect. I found so many different URLs to my Google+ page, but the one that ultimately worked began with "plus.google.com/u/0/". Other URLs with "b" and "post" or "page" all failed to save in Moz. Just delete these parts of the URL to end up with "plus.google.com/u/0/111111111111111111111" (21 digits represent your page number found in the Google+ page URL).
Thanks Moz team!
