Enhance audio on video recordings

A little bit out there for a Moz.com Q&A, but does anyone have a recomendation for using a mic while filming? The kind that clips on your shirt? How do you set that up? Where do you buy them? What kind of cameras do they work with?
Thanks!

We have a post about some of the things we use for Whiteboard Friday, if that helps at all.

Great question. Audio quality is much more important than video quality. I prefer using a wireless lav. I use and highly recommend the Sennheisser wireless lav shown here at B&H http://tinyurl.com/24yw234
Most video cameras today, including the cheap ones in the $250 range, include a mic input. Be sure to check before purchase, but odds are it does. If the camera has a hot shoe, the Sennheiser receiver will mount on top of the camera and then run the very short wire from the receiver to the camera mic input; otherwise, Velcro tape strips will work fine.
One final important tip. Get a foam windscreen similar to http://tinyurl.com/lc963pc If you ever shoot outdoors, it will significantly reduce that annoying wind noise.
Happy shooting,

Keri already posted this: http://moz.com/blog/tips-for-filming-whiteboard-presentations Which is what we use at Moz. I live by our Sennheiser Lavs. I have a set of my own that I've used for years and they've never given me trouble.
I'd also recommend using Audacity or Adobe Audition to help clean up room noise.

Here's a good wiki on doing it in Audacity: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Detailed_Audacity_Noise_Removal
The program is free so, enjoy. Audition on the other hand isn't but it is a bit more powerful.

+1 Sennheiser Lavs. Totally love them.
