Does posting on blogs with anchored backlinks do you any good?

I am also slightly lost with acceptable blog commenting etc.

I often see the users profile on blog site, acts as a link back to the original website

Or sometimes, it seems that people also sneak in a link into these blog comments as a footer almost.

I think you are right, if you can manage to get yourself a few links, they are all no follow from sites such as this, but they will definitely help to improve the trust factor of you site... i think lol

Sounds like we need to do a crowd source test!  Someone get a domain, and let's start hitting it with blog comments to see what happens!

You may want to correct your link from:

User: Toldham

to

User: Toldham

You have a clear Anchor text.
So it looks like this:  
User: Toldham

---

Ideally you would put your desired keyword in the Anchor... sosomething like:

i5 Digital - SEO Marketing Service in Hertfordshire

Thank you, Im pretty aware of that, and this gives as great practice grounds to discover and learn about SEO.

As we are still on this topic, Keri, you wouldn't happen to know if NoFollow links are at all valued by search engines, or are they just as good as plain text?

We still get plenty of people trying to make link drops in here, and not everyone has a nofollow highlight on their browser or looks at the source code.

Sorry, I've asked for a copy of the algorithm so that I could know for sure, but nobody's given that to me yet, and I haven't done enough independent testing to know what the search engines think.

As a moderator, I will sometimes still remove hyperlinks even if it is nofollow, just because it looks spammy to users and distracts from the flow of the discussion in Q&A or the blog.

The reason I ask, is because I open Open Site Explorer and it has a nofollow link there from wikipedia.

So If it has it, it is registered, but yet it is a nofollow link.

I see you figured it out.

Not all text blog editors allow HTML code, so you have to figure it out.

Also maybe get a chrome op firefox extension to see if the link is nofollow.

And Also - Dont forget to vary your Anchor text, as if it is all the same word over and over, google will get suspicious...

so in your case you can have something like:
SEO
SEO SERVICE
i5 Digital
Hertfordshire
SEO Service in Hertfordshire
etc.

I've checked out the link, and it seems like a good resource, but form 2010.
Things changed since then.
