Is there any value to meta keywords?

The more I read the more I realize that meta keywords are not as helpful as they once were. Is there any SEO value to meta keywords anymore or should the emphasis be put on the content and title tags in regards to keywords?

There is only one benefit that I can think of and that's catching a competitor that thinks the tag still has value. You can often openly see the keywords they are targeting within the tag, but aside from this I cannot see any other value from it.

No value other than a bit of competitive research.

lesser search engines still use it but it can hurt you in google if stuffed. throwing a couple keywords in there is no problem but don't waste time on it.
