HomeTesterClub Ranking
Howdy. It seems that the answer lays in Page Authority. Basically, it shows me that you don't have any links to those specific pages. You do have nice domain authority and a lot of links to domain, but links to actual page, especially with proper anchor texts will do miracles Hope this helps

How can I filter reviews that use profanity while using schema markup?
Hey Brett! Thanks so much for updating this thread. I like the answer you received, but I wish very much that it was coming directly from a Google staffer. I don't in any way doubt that what the volunteer is saying is true ... I'd just have preferred it if he mentioned he took the issue to staff to get an official answer. Hmm ... this is not an easy one!

Rich snippet not enabled, on aggregated review pages
Hi Tymen Thanks for your response, I thought as soon as the page was cached, it would enable the rich snippet, but seems I have some waiting to do I will wait a couple of months until I get worried then

Re-using Online Reviews?
Thanks for specifying the duplicate content considerations here John. I think we've envisioned all of the above re-uses containing links and explicit reference to the original site and review. Having not yet read each site's stipulations, it seems to me like they'd appreciate the free publicity and resulting backlinks to their sites. We'd even envisioned having branded site icons next to each re-used/referenced review so users can click directly to said review and read others on the original site. I'm curious to explore the stipulations to see if there's expressed reasoning for not liking the practice.

My local search results don't seem to line up with the numbers.
Thanks, Michael! While what I say here can't equal a professional audit, I'm going to take a quick look at your business and one of your keywords (limo service charleston sc). Using our free Moz Check Listing tool, I see you've got quite a few inconsistencies on the major local business data platforms: https://moz.com/local/details/JTI1NUIlMjUyMkNoYXJsZXN0b24lMjUyMEJsYWNrJTI1MjBDYWIlMjUyMENvbXBhbnklMjUyMiUyNTJDJTI1MjIyOTQwNyUyNTIyJTI1MkMlMjUyMkNoYXJsZXN0b24lMjUyMEJsYWNrJTI1MjBDYWIlMjUyMENvbXBhbnklMjUyMiUyNTJDJTI1MjIxNTI5JTI1MjBTYW0lMjUyMFJpdHRlbmJlcmclMjUyMEJsdmQlMjUyMiUyNTJDJTI1MjIyOTQwNyUyNTIyJTI1MkMlMjUyMjg0MzIxNjI2MjclMjUyMiUyNTVE You have duplicate listings on Facebook and several other platforms. Your duplicate listing on Facebook is throwing up a little red flag for me. This is what I see: Your correct NAP is: Charleston Black Cab Company 1529 Sam Rittenberg Blvd, Ste 2B, Charleston, SC, 29407 (843) 216-2627 www.charlestonblackcabcompany.com But I see a Facebook duplicate with: Charleston Black Cab Company 7281 Cross County Rd, North Charleston, SC 29418 (843) 216-2627 http://www.charlestonblackcabcompany.com/ Perhaps this is a second location, or you have moved, but in any case your name and phone number are being tied to two different addresses. If this is an old address, you need to close the duplicates and all old references to it. If it's a second location, it must not share a phone number with the Sam Rittenberg Blvd location. I am also seeing a duplicate YP listing with this info: Charleston Black Cab Company 1140 Barfield St, Daniel Island, SC 29492 (843) 216-2627 So, same as above, whether this is a previous or active address. Looks like you have some citation cleanup to do. If you are a Moz Local customer, our tool will certainly help with this important aspect of your active location data management. If you are not a customer, please study the results of the free tool closely and take manual actions to resolve inconsistent data and seek duplicate closure. *Please note that Moz Local is not finding your Google My Business listing because Google does not show us service area businesses with hidden addresses. It's correct that you've hidden your address on Google in compliance with their guidelines ... please make 100% certain that your address is correct in your GMB dashboard, though. Now, I'm taking a look at Google's local results for 'limo service charleston sc', keeping in mind, of course, that what I see in my location will not be identical to what you or your customers see. While not in the 3 pack, you are coming in at #6 in the local finder view: https://www.google.com/search?q=Charleston+Black+Cab+Company&oq=Charleston+Black+Cab+Company&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3j69i61j69i60.665j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=limo+service+charleston+sc&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=32800332,-79976385,5062&tbm=lcl&tbs=lf:1,lf_ui:2,lf_pqs:EAE The good news is that I don't see geography locking you out of the results. In other words, there doesn't appear to be a centroid issue playing a role here ... you are located in approximately the same area as the 5 businesses outranking you. Good to see. I notice there is no place marker on the map designating your business at the automatic zoom setting. Not sure why that is, but it does make me wonder how much Google trusts the data they have about your business. I notice this on a few of your competitors as well, but others do have the place marker, with their name written out on the map. I notice that you have earned many, many more reviews than any of your competitors. On the one hand, that's awesome, on the other hand, we always have to ask the question (no offense meant here) of whether you are positive that the review earning process is sticking to the letter of Google's guidelines. You'll want to be certain that you haven't somehow offended the Google gods in any way. A couple more things ... I'm looking at your website and see: You're doing a good job trying to cover a variety of user groups that need limo rental, but some of the pages you've devoted to these are on the short side. Do you feel you've made the best possible effort, or is there more you could do? I wonder about the business name. Most of your competitors have the word 'limo' in their name. I wonder if the fact that you are using the words 'black cab' instead of 'limo' is giving your competitors an advantage. Not a lot you can do about this, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Have you made sure there are no errors being reported in Google Search Console? Likely you have, but just mentioning Summing Up The citation situation is paramount. Getting those cleaned up really matters. I can't see if you have Google duplicates because the business is an SAB, but a full citation audit and the use of automated tools + possible manual correction seems warranted here given how quickly Moz Check Listing surfaced 3 different addresses tied to the same phone number. The review situation and more thoughts on the website come second. These are at-a-glance thoughts. There is likely more to be looked at, but I hope this gives you a good start!

Adding Google Reviews to Testimonials Page
Hi Chris, Thank you very much for your help. I like the link generator tool and appreciate you sharing it. Best, Rita

I can not see my google seller ratings anymore. Any ideas?
This URL should show you your ratings: https://www.google.com/shopping/seller?q=ebay.com (just replace ebay with your domain) However, if you haven't met the new threshold for number of reviews to receive the ratings extension, it appears that it does not show you the ratings gathered thus far (unfortunately).

The relationship between Google Reviews and SEO?
I'm going to have to disagree with 411. According to Google's Search Raters Guidelines document that was released last year, they're taking into account your site/company's overall reputation. This means they're not only looking at Google Reviews, but third party review/reputation sites as well. It's part of their initiative to improve the quality of results. It doesn't matter how many links you have or how good your site structure and on-page SEO is if the service or product you provide is terrible and gets bad reviews everywhere you look. For a summary of what's in these guidelines, check out this summary: https://moz.com/blog/google-search-quality-raters-guidelines. The whole guidelines document is worth reading, but be sure to check out the Reputation section and the 5 clues of what makes a page low quality in this post.

Has Anyone Ever Used Nearby Now App for SEO?
Hi there Will, Did you end up becoming a NearbyNow customer? Just curious. I am a customer and I think they do have a winning business idea. That said, I have found their systems to be a bit problematic and their help files to be weak. In addition, they just recently made a key feature only available for a daftly named "SEO Pro Master" plan; I am predicting a future SEO Pro Master Guru plan ;-). This was a feature I relied on in the SEO Pro plan to allow my clients to update their questions to make them more relevant to their businesses and change verbiage to say "patient" versus "client" or "customer". These may be irrelevant issues to your application - but I thought you and anyone else seeing this thread would like to know. Cheers, Ross

Snap Pack & Yelp/Angie's list Page authority
You're welcome, Meier. So sorry, but I'd not be able to make a guess as to how your competitor acquired links. You might want to consider consulting privately with a good SEO consultant about that, to whom you can show the exact situation in confidence. While we're on the topic of Yelp, if you're looking for some pro tips, I really enjoyed this video. You might watch it and jot down notes: http://localu.org/blog/guest-video-top-10-yelp-tips-small-business-2016/

Rich Snippets on Adult Content
Hi there. Google won't penalize you for that, it simply won't display it, if it's against their rules.

Query on Product Reviews
I wouldn't recommend using iframes, since in that case you would lose the reviews as part of your website. I say don't worry about it, if it makes sense from user experience point of view. If those reviews are expected to be where they are, and there is other content, which makes pages differ from each other. 2nd - updating content is not 'job' for reviews. Updating content is updating content. But sending email - sure, it might help you get some extra traction.

Google's knowledge graph carousel
Hi Patrick, Thanks so much for your feedback. I've managed to edit images on the business snippet, just not on the carousel, which is maddening! Definitely going to have to look into the Schema Markup - does this only provide an image for the snippet, or for the carousel as well? Cheers again

Does Google's 3rd Party Reviews Guideline Update make Review Aggregators Obsolete?
Good topic! So, the guidelines currently state: Ratings must be sourced directly from users. Don’t rely on human editors to create, curate or compile ratings information for local businesses. These types of reviews are critic reviews. Sites must collect ratings information directly from users and not from other sites. My question is, is the service you are using publishing your reviews anyplace else but on your website? In other words, are the reviews posted on your site appearing anywhere else?

Review page set up
Hi Meier, Hmm, I'm not aware of a plugin that auto-generates links to all your review profiles. Maybe someone else in our community knows of one? However, just for fun and inspiration, check out this page: http://barbaraoliverandco.com/reviews-testimonials/ If that were my client, I'd put the asks higher up on the page, but this is Mike Blumenthal's client so I won't second guess him Also, be sure you are reading the review guidelines of each platform you're planning to showcase before you move ahead.

Different results & page layout in Google local for plurals?
Hey Kurt, I'm able to replicate exactly what you are seeing, Kurt. I'm in CA. so, this might potentially influence the results I'm seeing vs. what Ira is seeing. I have seen both versions of the Local Finder view, but am not clear on what Google is doing with the test of both versions, and I'd never noticed before this difference of versions being triggered by plural vs. singular results. I'm actually doing some other searches now (shoe store vs. shoe stores, dentist vs. dentists with city modifiers) and I am NOT able to replicate the singular vs. plural difference you discovered with the church search. What I do see is that, for that church search, the radius of the results appears to be the same, and that it's quite interesting that Google is only showing reviews for the singular search. Sorry not to have more insight on this, but it definitely looks like good old Google testing things out for the search you've been doing. Could change by the time you wake up tomorrow. It makes me realize that I'd like to see a post on differences like this in the Local Finder view. I can't recall seeing one. Thanks for raising the question.

Google crawling item page reviews
Thanks for being so thorough with your answer! I'll have our tech team take a look at the markup. We used to have our review content embedded as part of the html code and I've heard that increases crawl frequency and was also easy for search engines to understand. Now I think we might be using AJAX which apparently causes confusion for crawl bots.

Too many reviews too quickly?
I have the same question. While I appreciate the replies from Andy and Miriam, neither backed up their answers with evidence. Has Google ever stated specifically that too many reviews too quickly could get a site penalized or have the reviews not "count?" Or has anyone ever published research or examples? Thanks, Paul
