Is SEMrush Going Out Of Business?
I've had problems and emailed them to ask what the devil is going on - they replied saying that they would compensate me for the time the service is down for. That was last week. I logged in this morning and my rankings were tracked successfully, so I emailed them to ask what compensation I will be getting... So far I haven't had a response, but they gave me a discount last year when a similar thing happened so I have every expectation of them fulfilling their promises.

Do You Work At Home As An SEO Or Have An Office?
I really appreciate all of you taking the time to tell me about your experiences. I am only sorry I could only mark 3 of you as good answers. All your input was welcomed and helpful to me in one way or another. I hope to continue to see you on the boards, maybe just not as much. Don

Are there any noob sites that might enlighten me to how everyone earns income here?
I don't have clients. I work on my own websites. Some are retail monetized by sales, some are informational monetized by ads. The best place to start with ads is Google Adsense. Their website has all of the information that you need and lots of sample websites to learn how itworks. To make money that way you need to produce content of high enough quality that it attracts an audience or attracts a lot of traffic from search and social.

Should I implement 301 Redirects vs 410 in Removing Product Pages?
hi there! I want to add a bit more of difficulty on this topic. What would you guys do if your products are renewed every year, so product A in 2014 is product B (almost the same as the previous) in 2015, and then B will eventually become C in 2016. How would you guys avoid the 301 chain? any suggestion? Thanks! rafa

Is it reasonable to not give an SEO access to our CMS?
Exact same thing has happened to us in the past too.... One of our clients is a major Canuck city's Economic Development dept whose mandate is to get new businesses and investors to come to their city to invest and open new businesses. At first, we too were denied access to anything - we had to create long Word .docs with full directions and screenshots of what to do and where to do it. However, after 5 renewals over the past 5 years, we were given full access to their site via both their CMS and ftp too... Proving I'd suspect that trust needs to be "earned" - not given freely is how I'd see it... Oh in another case another SEO client - a major Canuck University has not been able to give that same earned trust access as their site includes credit card info - buried deep and encrypted - but PCI specs say that they should limit access....so again we do the full Word .doc blueprints for their site....

Seo audit tool recommendation and advice anyone?
Hi Alec, There are various tools that you can use, but when it comes to the real "deal" I usually go for Screaming Frog + Excel. Back, when I had a Moz Pro account, I remember their crawls provided quite a good data to start with. This is how I usually do it (doesn't mean that there are no good tools for SEO). The most important IMO is to collect data, as much data as possible. Understand it. Prioritize it. Then take action accordingly. (I think Moz Pro is a perfect tool that can help). I hope it has helped. Gr., Keszi

RFP for professional services
Generally not what the forum is used for, but I'm sure there are a number of people who would be willing to discuss further with you privately - you can always consult one of the companies Moz recommends: http://moz.com/community/recommended Best of luck with your project!

Does a blog on a subdomain pass on SEO credit to the main domain?
Hi Nicole, Just to mention first off my comment's more regarding sub domains more than Hubspot specifically. I'll try to answer your question directly: Does one lose any credibility or get diluted by putting said blog on a subdomain rather than in a subdirectory folder? You may loose credibility (or gain if you put it on a sub folder) by the fact a subdomain could look 'new' compared to an existing website but to be honest its nominal in the big picture. As for credibility that's more for the users point of view than Google's (unless you're planning on being very naughty with the site) but with good content and branding this shouldn't be a problem. There are oodles of topics on subdomains vs. subfolders out there for you to research but try not to over think it too much as it really all boils down to what you want out of it. You can over come most of the problems you feel you may have. Link diluting etc. is only really a problem if you're planning on posting the same content on both domains as they would literally competing with one another but if its unique and useful info they it should rank on its own merit (with some basic SEO/SEM) If you are unsure or feel inexperienced I'd recommend putting it on your site then you will get a boost from your blog (see Moz example above) without as much work, so unless you want to distance your main site from the blog this should cover you well. if in doubt do more research, ask more people get all the info until you feel you're all covered. Best of luck with your blog and I hope it all goes swimmingly.

Best Way to Promote Other Authors SEO?
What you have produced has a fantastic appearance. What isn't obvious to me when I land on this page are.... **1) Who Should Care? ** Tell visitors who will constitute your audience? ...who should read your stuff? is it experienced SEO, small biz owner, somebody new to SEO who wants to know what an experienced person like you thinks they should know about and what they should be reading. If you intend to use this page as a way to keep clients and potential clients up-to-date with changes in search and internet marketing (or whatever subject) then stating that very clearly at the top - even as the big bold text at the top of the page, then I think you would get a better following. 2) Your commitment and a way to subscribe. The people who visit my page have the opportunity to sign up to receive it by email or rss feed through FeedBurner. I have a very obvious announcement there... GET OUR UPDATES FIVE TIMES PER WEEK. That's my commitment. They can see each daily post has a date at the top and six to ten entries and maybe a video. They see I am running an active daily service. Over ten years I have accumulated thousands of subscribers because they know I am going to feed them the news. About 1/2 subscribe by RSS and about 1/2 by email. When I mention an article in my news the website with the content can get hundreds to a thousand visitors immediately. It is a great way to launch my own content. **3) Who you are gonna be. ** In the blurb that you use with each entry you can step into a pulpit and show your voice. You can give guidance. "Every small biz person competing for organic traffic should read this."...... "Remarketing is a way to give repeated calls to action for the folks who have visited your website."..... "Don't make this mistake on your blog".... etc. "Lots of people are doing this but it sets off my BS meter" You can be the guy to recommend, diss, endorse, suggest. If you assume that role, I think that it might help build a following.

How can I transform my knowledge into products?
Hi guys, Thank you very much for your time and your help, I've found a lot of example of "SEO products" in the Moz's listing. Regards, Jonathan

If someone was brand new at all of marketing, where would you send them to get educated?
That is definitely true about there being no one formula for marketing that leads to success. I think my question is directed at how all the pieces of marketing and advertising for medium sized business should work together. Once all the pieces have been identified, and the big picture is more clear, then it would be easier for someone to focus on certain areas at a time for more detailed education.

What are your opinions on the Google News vs Spanish Government Issue ?
If the Spanish government is smart it will reverse or revise these rules. If they don't reverse or revise their publishers will be starved of revenue and with that their quality must drop - if they don't go out of business.

Best ranking Magento sites?
the Crumpler website has an excellent brand and social media presence which ranks really well in Australia for just about any bag related search. Probably due to it being a well established web presence for a long time
