SEO-strategy building questions
FYI- Use the keyword difficulty tool in seomoz instead of the google adwords tool (talks about paid competition not seo) to determine if a keyword is hard or not for seo.

Anyone know if optimal Twitter use frequency for promoting a keyword i.e how much is too much
The spam mindset works on the basis that enough will get through to make it worthwhile. I don't get it either... FWIW, we're seeing increasing Twitter traffic to PRNewswire.com and we're experimenting with a mix of accounts. he full list is here http://www.prnewswire.com/contact-us/prnewswire-on-twitter/ There's also good case study on the SEO value of tweets here http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-tweet-effect-how-twitter-affects-rankings-12781 Good luck

So if I wanted to monitor tweets about Lady Gaga and limit it to Austin, TX how would I filter this?
And now you have me wondering how Lady Gaga and Austin tie into pest control.

Let's talk about Facebook Comments!
My concerns about this are... 1) Can search engines see the content?... and 2) what does moderation involve? Here is what I found on the Facebook site about crawlability... (at this URL) The Facebook comments box is rendered in an iframe on your page, and most search engines will not crawl content within an iframe. However, you can access all the comments left on your site via the graph API as described above. Simply grab the comments from the API and render them in the body of your page behind the comments box. We recommend you cache the results, as pulling the comments from the graph API on each page load could slow down the rendering time of the page. For moderation... I am thinking that this will be another problem. Compared to allowing comments via wordpress this has the ability to send the comments out to a lot of people who use facebook. Huge upside there. But I still will probably not use it because moderating the comments would pull me away from jobs that I feel are more important and that I would rather do. .... but that is just my perspective. May work much better for other people.

Duplicate Content
For user experience, I don't like it either. But I'm more curious about the duplicate content issue. Could they be seen as simply full text RSS feeds on multiple sites? Or since the root domain is still apart of the site, it is actually seen as "on-site duplicate content" which some suggest penalizes the main site. i'm going to recommend removing the posts all together, and then to offer an RSS of just links on another portion of the page. Maybe on the left or right column? This could be beneficial as it builds our internal linking.

How much attention do you pay to hashtags in your tweets?
I can't remember which conference it was at the moment, but a Googler talked about how if you have too many hashtags they see that as spam and it might not make it into the real time search. I know some people just have fun with the hashtags, but we use them in our tweets for things like #SEO #socialmedia #analytics, etc whenver it makes sense.

Posting to twitter from wordpress website
I use the Socialite plugin on my wp blogs. Not only can you have your posts automatically tweeted, but you can also use a URL shortener of your choice, and cross post to facebook and myspace as well.

What would be a good way to drive traffic to a temporary post - job posting / classified ad?
If you can't spend money I would suggest Twitter. Ask your followers to retweet your job opening. You might also offer to write a guest post for a local blog that will get in front of a lot of your target audience.

How do I control the thumbnail image for a link on a Facebook post?
Thanks, Tait. Does the Wordpress plugin you mentioned actually add open graph tags? Because if not, here's one that I found that does - and works quite well: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-ogp/ Worth reading the plugin page on the author's website to make sure you have the installation set up right.

Will becoming a YouTube partner get me higher rankings on the site?
I'm not sure on that one, but I'd be surprised if you couldn't as you can do so in Adwords and that's where Youtube gets its ads.
