If we maintain multiple facebook account for a partcular website will it be penalized??
I don't see the benefit of creating multiple accounts. They won't be penalised but the likeliehood of having atleast one of them appear in search, when searching your brand will dramatically reduce. Think about consolidating your efforts. V

Identifying Social Activity of Competition in Open Site Explorer.
Hi Justin, I am pretty sure the numbers are extracted directly from FB/Twitter/Google+ APIs. You can, for example, get the raw number for SEOmoz.org FB shares here: graph.facebook.com/http://www.seomoz.org If you want better data about your competitors, you want to go to Topsy. You can see details about SEOmoz here: analytics.topsy.com/?q=seomoz.org Thomas

Youtube as seen on error
I feel your pain. It's really irritating to see other sites getting some attribution for your work, but unfortunately we're dealing with relatively new functionality here and as such, it's not yet super sophisticated. Going forward, you may hopefully find that YT gets smarter at appropriating attribution to the content creators, but in the mean time - it has a choice between two relatively poor quality references and is simply picking one over the other. I don't think it will have anything to do with your domain name, but you are currently not linking back to the original post on your site within the vid meta description. probably worth putting this in. It's only a nofollow link without anchor text, but still a relevant reference. You might also want to try linking back to your channel on the post with the embed code. Another thing I would recommend trying is bringing in lots of views to the video on your own site. If two sites have embedded the content, but one is generating more views than the other, then these seems to me to be a relatively sensible metric for determining "as seen on" attribution. I haven't tested this to see if it's true, but It cant hurt to give it a go.

Are social signals passed with a 301 redirect
The only experience I've had is a client who was heavily involved in Social media (youtube/twitter/fb) decided to create a new brand under a new domain. We did so, and 301'd all the social "link juice" to the new domain. We were able to keep most of the traffic that was arriving for about three weeks, then it started to fade away. Keep in mind we actively told readers about the new social profiles to follow, and convinced about 75% of the audience to follow the new profiles. As to the link juice getting passed along, The new site only needed about 3 months to get ranked, so my take is that yes, using a 301 will send the signals along. good luck!

Sharethis vs addthis
Our recent experience with the AddThis buttons/script - is that it slowed our page load time down tremendously, so we removed it. Did not try loading it asynchronously, which may have helped.

Disqus Vs. Wordpress Vs Facebook VS Comment Plug Ins
Whoa! That was a mouthful! I have recently switched to Disqus because of the additional functionality like embedding media which I think enhances the "conversation capabilities". The ability to login from any one of the main social media platforms makes it easy and therefore encourages people to get involved. I am not keen on Facebook alone because you don't want to be dependent on a single platform and as for the Wordpress comments, nothing particularly wrong with it, but it is quite limited if you compare to Disqus.

Google Plus Algorithim take into account your circle of friends?
Hi Nevil! I highly recommend you read through this article: The Ultimate Google+ SEO Guide from AJ Kohn. He's put in a ton of work to try to figure out how to make Google+ work for you from an SEO perspective. One part that jumped out to me from the post that seems quite relevant to your particular question is this line: Content from people you engage with more often or content that is more popular overall will rank better. I'd definitely read through his guide, as it's by far the best one out there for info on Google+ for SEO purposes. Hope this helps! Jen

What's a good social media content creation brief template?
That's a pretty comprehensive prompt for most skilled writers I think. Tone of voice kind of covers it, but writing style might be an added factor: conversational, encyclopedic, persuasive, etc. Here's a few other SEOMoz resources you should check out: Q&A: What Should I Look For When Hiring a Blogger YouMoz: How to Outsource Content That's Worth Reading (Be sure to take a look at the 2nd comment by iPullRank) Whiteboard Friday: Outsourcing Content Creation

Any issues with buying Twitter followers, FB fans, or Youtube subscribers?
I'd start by asking yourself why you want followers, and then think about the return on investment you're likely to get. There's no quick way to buy a loyal following, you have to earn it. You want "followers", not "zombies"...

Social Sharing - Reducing Button Size
JMarch Not sure which provider you are using, but I just pulled up a client site and with four buttons (Twit. FB like, FB share,Plus one) we are pulling 112.8 after gzip. Before gzip we get 354.5kb. If you could provide a bit more info, we will try to assist. Best

Google+ What account to use for business?
Hi! Yes, Google does seem to want people to use their personal gmail accounts when setting up Google+ pages. I'm not 100% sure of the benefit of this other than just being able to verify it's a real person. I actually have the SEOmoz account set up under my personal gmail account. Luckily, they have now opened it up so you can add more administrators. However, the other administrators of the account are all also using their personal gmail account. I don't think they allow Google Apps or Business accounts to set up Google+ pages (I could be wrong here though). What I would suggest is to create a gmail account for the team/company and make sure it's a personal account. Use that as the original owner, then add additional administrators through their personal accounts. Unfortunately there's no getting around having to use a personal account at some point. When you log in, you have the ability to change the profile you're in from your own, to the company's. I hope this helps! Jen
