Hey Sarah, You would just need to create redirects for the HTML pages. I wouldn't worry about the JS/images.

Martijn, I shouldn't have called it a "secret weapon" because an ads.txt file is public. My question is really that given that Google looks at everything, it would be surprising if the search algos didn't check to see if there's an ads.txt file on the site, and give that some weight. Anyone else looked at this or tested it?

PageSpeed insights is cool but I find GTMetrix often gives more useful info. In red I highlighted all the calls which your site / page makes to YouTube.com. As Greg Painter specifically said, all of these calls to YT do seem to be slowing things down and causing you problems! Any chance you can embed those resources (which your page is calling for) natively on your site? It would be faster than keep calling out to YT which has to satisfy enormous amounts of traffic as it is

Keep it for a short-time in case something was overlooked.  I also like to keep the 301's in place for the reason that there maybe an external site linking to the .html pages. If the 301's are not in place, these links will 404. Good luck!

As long as you are inserting the canonical tag and pointing to the right URL, then there shouldn't be any issue with the additional attributes. As long as the attributes don't affect Google, then it should safely ignore them. You can try some A/B testing if you wish, but in other cases of adding attributes, Google just applies the tags that it recognises/reads. The issue with your slider is that as all 4 slides have the same text which is copy-pasted for every slide, and it might hurt your keyword optimization. Since your site doesn't have an H1, the ideal solution would be to turn the slider text into an H1 and make it so that the text floats over the slider, and not cycle the same text all over again, or setting an H1 outside the slider. Alternatively, it that's too complicated, switching the text of one of the slides as an H1 would be a plus for the website. If a sitemap existed, you could pull from cache or server. If not, you can recreate one via Google Analytics/Log data.
