.discount Domain Extensions
The jury's really still out on these, all around. As Lesley said, it depends on if and when people adopt them (on the user side), and Google often plays new domain extensions by ear. If an extension gets very spammy, they may start to see it as low-value. My prediction is that keywords in the extension will carry some weight, but it's going to be a fairly weak signal. So "chicago-divorce.attorney" could give you a tiny boost toward ranking for "Chicago divorce attorney", but it's not going to be enough to make a difference for a competitive phrase. We're even seeing keywords in the root domain slowly losing traction as stand-alone signals. It's not enough to buy a keyword-matched domain in 2014. If you're in a position where there's a good name available under the new extensions that fits your brand, and your options with .com's are bad, then it may be worth a shot. I certainly wouldn't dissuade someone from locking down a name under the next extensions, if the cost is reasonable. I'm just not sure I'd bet anything on the new extensions being an SEO boon.

What is the difference between to all Panda updates or algorithm?
the percentage is how many queries are affected, this means that 11.8% of them were affected (this can be negative or positively or resulted in a penalty etc.) The reason there are panda 1 and 2 is its a bit like a software update it gets better so it gets a new number each time. If you want more in-depth things on the panda there is loads of resource over the internet or Moz and only a quick search away. Hope it helps.

Is having an identical title, h1 and url considered "over optimization"? Is it better to vary?
PS - We are indexed, just not ranking as well as we'd like

Do Explainer Videos Help SEO?
That makes a lot of sense - it's kind of what I figured: videos don't help you rank better by themselves. I feel like the claim, "Having an explainer video on your web page makes it 53% more likely to show up on the first page of Google search results" is definitely misleading. As an explainer video company, we want to understand these things and provide more clarity to our clients up-front regarding Video + SEO.

Help for a webstore with Google Warnings for Watermark Images and Panda
Oh that certainly is tedious It took us months, one of them took over a year, just to remove panda. All I can say is that you need to be patient and keep up the improvements. There's also a new update so keep an eye on that. You can also setup a separate site or focus on paid/content marketing while you wait for the recovery for the mean time.

Complete website redesign: original domain vs subdomain vs new domain ?
Thank you Tom for your comprehensive answer. Indeed, we are experiencing some drops with backlinks comparing to the beginning of the year but I don't think it's the matter of penalty. The main source of incoming traffic is our publications, PRs, a few discussions and since we have a pause with publications that can be a reason for a drop. Back to the matter: yes, we are updating company and product branding, keeping our value proposition as before, just making a stronger statement. And yes, I'd say I'm more inclined to the idea of keeping the domain as it is and publishing the new website there (of course with 301 redirect for old URLs) but many industry colleges suggested to create the subdomain for the "backup" purposes "in case if God knows what happens you will still have your old website structure". Thanks again for your point of view, will definitely consider it.

50% drop in search, no changes to site over 2 days, no notifications, A rank...
Sorry to hear about that. If the problem is spammy back links, using disavow is a good start, but you need to wait for Google to recrawl them all. Also, make sure you use multiple tools to identify the back links, different back link checkers behave differently, and using several will make sure you identify the maximum number to disavow. Also, even disavow isn't going to address all the losses (SEO ranking is somewhat of a king of the hill game, getting knocked down will mean you still have to climb back up once you address the penalties). You'll want to reach out to as many of the spammy links and see if you can get them removed (frustrating, and many simply won't respond, but actually removing the links is the most effective version of disavowing them). You can also ask for a reconsideration if you feel the penalty was unfounded (see: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35843?hl=en). Finally, while it doesn't directly address the drop in rankings, you should consider investing in improving SEO signals. As mentioned by other searchbuzz, adding a blog that updates your page content regularly will help your SEO, as will updating your sitemap so that Googlebot doesn't think you are misleading it about the freshness of your content. You could also consider periodically going through your site and updating parts of it outside the blog to keep page freshness up a bit. Adding structured data will help search engines find the right content on your site, and right now you haven't added any (http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fapplianceassistant.com%2F). Google PageSpeed Insights have a lot of suggestions for increasing page speed (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=applianceassistant.com). You may also want to consider moving to HTTPS, since you're dealing with a penalty and should be trying to maximize all the other SEO signals to compensate. Unfortunately, getting hit with a penalty for algorithm changes not meant to specifically address your site (but to address those being extraordinarily abusive) doesn't have a quick fix. You just need to start practicing more sustainable SEO and mitigate the damage as best as possible.

How important is fresh content?
Hi Demi Is the blog on a sub-domain of the main site or a separate domain. If it is on a sub domain, then this counts as fresh content. if it is not you might want to think about moving the Blog to a sub domain. Can you let us know Bruce.

Duplicate Content
It's absolutely ridiculous that our industry lays down and accepts stuff like this from Google. It is unacceptable for them to not be able to determine who originally created the content. They have the data to do it.

Creating Content for Semantic search?
You're going to need to understand, at the bare minimum the following: Place TouristAttraction Photo Next thing you know, Schema markup will encompass more aspects of the aforementioned. So prepare for that. Keep up to date with the blog.

Trends in publishing
Well that is that trend but it's just like back then when they said niche sites are dead and everyone should build "authority sites" - it's the same thing, just with faster and more aggressive marketing/content team. So yeah, the trend will continue as social gets more popular until it gets really, really overboard and social sites will just launch another algorithm to clear out the lower quality ones. Either way, getting links from them = win. Imagine all the new users you can sign up from the referral traffic alone. The links you will get from being featured again is a bonus. Good luck!

Case Sensitive URL Redirects for SEO
Sadly you are asking a question that is impossible to give a concrete answer to. There are many factors involved, meaning it is possible that you 'may' notice a drop, but on the other hand, it is just as likely (if a good job is done of the work) that you will notice no drop at all. -Andy
