Optimizing Site for Multiple Business Services
Hi, You'll definitely want to break out each topic into its own page. If you have one page that addresses all of those services, you can't properly apply on-page optimization tactics, and therefore you won't be sending the right signals to search engines. John Mueller of Google actually recently addressed this situation here: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-one-url-one-piece-of-content-22341.html

Google panda, penguin or Patience needed?
Hey I think replied to your other post but I can chip in here a little as well. Firstly I would try to understand where these drops are happening. You mention that you are still ranking well for some of the main keywords so what is losing traction? Review the periods after each drop and then compare to the previous period in analytics. Work through the various reports and you can determine what pages / sections of the site are losing traffic. You can then get an idea of what is likely the problem and formulate a plan to resolve it. The first step here is always to gather as much information as possible on where exactly you are losing traffic and then perform a review to understand what the problem is and even if this was solid, well converting traffic in the first place. Hope that helps Marcus

Ecommerce SEO help
Hey Becky Marcus pretty well covered things, but wanted to point you to a video Matt Cutts did a few years back about discontinued products: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tz7Eexwp_A - a good watch to get an idea of how Google may look at things, and he breaks out some options depending on the type of site you have.

301 redirect to URL plus anchor tag???
Hi Jenny Yes you can redirect to URLs with anchor tags, but to Gaston's point - now that you have everything on one page, they may not rank as well as before. It does depend a little on how much overlap there was across the different products to begin with. The new page might rank well for a little while, but as Google starts to take the new consolidated page into account, you may lose ranking. The root fix would be to maintain separate pages like before, it that's possible.

Knowledge Graph Not Showing Up after Schema Implementation
It could be a lot of things, do you know if Google has already crawled + indexed the new markup that you've added for example? It can be that they haven't seen the new markup yet. Besides that we also still don't have seen any knowledge graph markup, not even for our own brand name. In some cases Google completely ignores what they're going to do with your keyword and it's relevance.

Why do some URLs display in the SERPS with > seperators between subfolders, and others display with a /
Makes total sense. Thanks!

Remove spam url errors from search console
Hi Ruben, I had the same issue with one of the websites and what Bas has recommended is great. We've done both methods and it cleared 90% of them. We are still getting a few in the search console and I am planning to update the disavow list, and hopefully they will disappear completely. Hope Bas's recommendations will work for you. Good luck, Monica.

Google Adding / Manipulating Page Meta Titles?
For a while, Google has been auto-appending brand names (or their best guess) in that "Title Goes Here - Brand" style, even when "- Brand" isn't in the title tag. There's no way to tell them not to do that, unfortunately. When they launched the redesign to the wider column, it seems like title rewriting increased, IMO. So, the weird question here, clearly, is why does Google think your company is called "0 Reviews"? It could be an old legacy bit of bad data somewhere, like DMOZ (as Russ said), or it could be something they're seeing on-page or in inbound anchor text. Unfortunately, without being able to see the site, this kind of thing is really tough to diagnosis.

AngularJS - How to check?
Awesome! That's helpful! I also heard that Screaming Frog has the capability to crawl AJAX sites but I am not sure how to utilize that data for a website built in AngularJS

SEO - Vimeo vs. YouTube
Hi Becky, I just use both :). Youtube is good for SEO indeed. Vimeo is more friendly on the site for the visitors> no ads. Good luck Tymen ps: I found this article: https://www.videomaker.com/article/c12/15696-youtube-or-vimeo-seeking-maximum-exposure-for-your-video

Desk top rankings differ from mobile rankings
Hi Phil, It's not uncommon to see different results on each since Google does use two separate crawlers for desktop and mobile and have been for quite some time. Moz covered this back in 2012 and also linked to a tool that allows you to see how your site looks on various mobile devices (apologies if you already knew all of this!) A very broad way to look at improving your mobile rankings is to improve your site's overall SEO to provide a stronger product and also put some emphasis on the mobile user experience. For example, if the site has a hero image that takes up 1/3 of the page on desktop, make sure your responsive version of this image scales down nicely so it isn't taking up 200% of their screen height and forcing content well below the fold. You said you've already been through Google's suggested fixes which is great and it also means the load speed is probably pretty good now too. For a bit more detailed info, both Search Engine Land and Marketing Land covered this in 2016 and both are worth a read.

Is there any way to prevent Google from using structured data on specific pages?
Hi Garrett, I'm not sure I understand the question completely. The screenshot example you shared was a YouTube result. Craig

Anyone experience google penalties for full-screen pop-ups?
Hi, I don't personally have any case studies of sites experiencing a drop in organic traffic on mobile which can be traced to a pop-up interstitial (maybe in part because my clients don't tend to use pop-ups in that way). When it comes to user-triggered content, I think it depends on a couple things, including how the user arrives at the pop-up and how the pop-up is implemented technically. Google's view of a site's mobile-friendliness is based on the result of a crawl, and so for instance if it's an event that isn't possible to trigger as a crawler, it shouldn't be a problem. I see it being similar to the use of JS navigation for country selection - it becomes an issue when (for instance) Googlebot can't get past a JS popup or drop-down because it can't click on a link to select a country option or to close the window. This type of situation is often the case for the sorts of popup that occur when the page loads, giving an annoying user experience, rather than because a user has chosen to click on a link to provide an email address (for example). Google have also made clear that the primary concern is around it being a poor user experience, rather than a technical issue. So I would see it as: Interstitial ad or other pop-up that appears on page load = bad. Some sort of non-disruptive data entry box like an email form that only appears when a user chooses to open it and which can be bypassed by a crawler = ok. However! That's just my theory, I don't have data at the moment to prove or disprove that hypothesis. I would love to hear from other people who have other theories or any practical examples of this. Also, if you're not sure how Google perceives a given page, run it through the Mobile-friendly testing tool and they'll tell you.

Am I hit by an update????? Please help
If you want to DM me a couple of sample keywords and the domain, I could take a quick look. Unfortunately, these things are very hard to diagnose in generalities.
