SEO service providers overseas
Overseas as in Europe? I have worked with Distilled (www.distilled.net) on several occasions, and can vouch for them. But there are many good SEO companies. Luckily, SEOmoz did the work and compiled a good resource of good SEO companies: http://www.seomoz.org/article/recommended

Mobile Website Converters
ummmmm... I think you should be using your main site for the seo and redirect if user is on a mobile. At least that's what I did. If its a static website I would create static mobile site to redirect through if its a cms like joomla get a good mobile template I tried a few converters they all sucked Eli

Pricing Page vs. No Pricing Page
Yeah this is my argument. We have an SEO quote page and I allready made this clear on the page: http://www.boastingbiz.com/seoquote.html I think having this page and a pricing page is kinda over kill. I guess the real question here is, is it good to have a page for pricing regardless of the content on there? is it something a user looks for like a home page button?

This is a bit of a melon-twister - Anyone have any ideas?
Hello Simon, Can you fill me in on the factors that have led to you wanting to make your main pages free of geo-targeting? I ask this because, if your business serves local clientele and has a physical address and local phone number, Google is going to see you as most relevant to your city of location, making Bristol (or wherever you are located) an integral part of the SEO/Local SEO of your key pages. Secondary cities (for example, cities where you go to serve beyond your city of location) can have their own pages, but these will be secondary keywords and not your core terms which would be your services + your city of location. Am I missing something? It would help to understand why you want your content to be separate from your company's locale.

How much (%) of the content of a page is considered too much duplication?
I would not use a canonnical for your www v non www, use a 301 there is a tutorial there also to fix the index.html problem also, these tutorials are for micdrosoft iis server, if you have linux, you need to find the htaccess alternatives. I always go for the non www, as www is of no use, so why have it, but for you i would look at what your links point to.

How Does SEO Help Local Businesses
Anthony, I think you are right on point with content strategy. I guess the challenge is coming up with content that will drive the right traffic. If we are selling cars in the NYC area and I write a great article on how to detail your car like a professional and someone from Arizona visits the site, the visitor is not targeted. The other thought I had was to write about local happenings where the car dealers are located. Make more of a local portal than a site just dedicated to people looking for cars in a local market.

Can anyone explain what the blog network penalties news is about please?
Yes, that is a blog network, but i dount you will be penalized for a couple of blogs. But i would rethink the idea, if you think the sites can generate enouuth trafic and convert back your site and then sales then maby, but if you think this is going to give your site a boost in rabnkings then i would not bother. You would need to get links to your blogs to make them worthwhile, and those links could of been going to your main site. My suggestion is put the content you were going to put on these blogs on your own site and maybe you will gain trafic and links.

Are micro formats and schema.org a worthwhile investment of my time?
Thank you for the link Thomas, I agree I'm always dubious when looking at posts saying "X% increase in ..." because its hard to know if the testing / statistics are accurate. I have a few websites so I might try this on one of them and see what effect it has on rankings and incoming visors, seems like an interesting concept.
