Keyword tool for news?
You could use Google's last 24 hours option or Blekko's 'search by date' (mainly US-based stuff, I think) and see what gets the most engagement. Google News, Twitter (see which hashtags are popular) and Reddit could be used too, and the 'most read' boxes on various sites like the BBC. It's not quite search interest like Google Trends, but I bet there's a correlation. Trends and other websites (I can't think of others off the top of my head) often have a most searched for section too: http://www.google.co.uk/trends/hottrends

How to get content to index faster in Google.....pubsubhubbub?
Hey Nathan A link from any well crawled resource will help - you will see that Q&A posts on SEOMoz can be indexed in minutes which is kind of crazy. But, a general tip is to link out to any new content from your Google+ account. Ultimately, if you publish loads of content and are well regarded, you will index quickly. If not, you can sit back and hope or try to get a few links to that content from resources that are indexed somewhat quicker and piggy back on those. Hope that helps! Marcus

How to use anchor
Now you are asking the question that every SEO eventually asks, "What do I do now?" This is an uncomfortable question to answer because you can't just go to Google and say, "What do I do now?" You have to come up with the answer to this. You have to figure out what is best for your site. Until you figure out the magic formula for what you need to do now, I recommend that you build content for YOUR site. I really don't have much more for you. As you build more content, you'll think of things to do now.

Switch hosting to be closer to site visitors, and 99% dropped from rankings?
That was my first thought also, but no returns of rankings after 4 days now

Photo Gallery marked as spam???
Sometimes galleries are viewed as thin content, but you stated you have captions under each one of the images, consisting of 1-3 sentences each, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. As an example, one of the sites I work on used to have gallery pages that were flagged as duplicate content in SEOmoz's crawler, because they contained nothing but images and navigation. I added a little bit of text under each image, and they're no longer flagged that way. Example: http://www.stadriemblems.com/galleries/fire-department-patches.html

High Bounce with Long Time on Page - Good or Bad?
Hi, To reduce the bounce rate of your landing pages, you can have some teasers on them that lead to other pages. For one of my clients, I did the same. I added product related textual and graphical teasers to the landing pages with high bounce rate. When the visitors clicked on those teasers they are taken to another page on the same website that will have some how to videos and / or slides. This strategy worked pretty well for my client. One thing that you have to remember is that when including teasers on these high bounce pages, these should be tightly related or belong to the same subject matter of these host pages they reside in. Coming to the question related to if high bounce rate is good or bad, it all depends on the purpose behind the existence of these pages. Take for example, a visitor lands on a Wikipedia page in search of a topic. He reads the article and leaves Wikipedia. In this case, the page on Wikipedia served the purpose behind its existence and the visitor got what he wanted. Bounce rate on Wikipedia is good in this regard. Hope that helps. Best regards, Devanur Rafi.

Any good link buying companies ( http://www.text-link-ads.com )
I believe the "good linkbuilder" term is subjective. I have clients who want to acquire anchor text links(by various means) to increase their rankings but I believe unless you grow your link profile naturally using good content that is well syndicated, you might just shoot yourself in the foot. I honestly think co citation and authority links are the ways to go. Those can both be acquired by being an authority figure in your niche or at least attempting to contribute valuable insights that gain you attention from teh right people.

Best possible linking on site with 100K indexed pages
Howdy richardo24hr, One of articles that changed my SEO life was written by Rand back in 2010: All Links are not Created Equal The article is still valid today, and update link Panda and Penguin have further changed the landscape of links. Here's a few important points to keep in mind: 1. Multiple links from the same domain don't always help. It's better to have 50 links from 50 domains than 10,000 links from one domain. After the first link, other links from the same domain may pass value, but that value tends to diminish. 2. Since the Penguin update, sitewide, over-optimized anchor text can lead to penalties and/or filters targeting your keywords. For example, a sitewide footer link (or sidebar link) that pointed to your site with optimized anchor text is often seen as non-editorial (as it's placed automatically by your CMS) and this could actually hurt you. 3. Google is getting better at sniffing out site with "administrative" relationships, and tend to devalue these links. So a site that links to you from 100,000 pages is likely to broadcast a relationship between the 2 sites to Google, so Google may possibly devalue these links. Links from this site can help! But the danger is to overdo it in a way that can actually act counter to what you're trying to achieve. The best links from this site, from an SEO point of view, would be: Editorial. Meaning they are linked to in the body of a text article, and not auto-generated by a CMS This means the links are varied in thier anchor text, and not over-optimized I would avoid sitewide links RSS links are tricky, but in general I don't see them adding much value. Although these links are often scraped and posted on 3rd party sites. In this case it's best to use generic or branded anchor text like the full url of your site: example.com If I had to choose, one link on the homepage may well give you more value than 100,000 RSS links. There's probably an opportunity to do more than this, but I'd do a thorough link audit to look for as many over-optimized links from this domain as possible. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.

Should I block temporary pages
let them get indexed. Google won't have a problem for you taking pages down on your site. They probably won't accrue much PR in a couple of months so you could probably just remove them and be fine and mass 301 them to the main product page Even better create unique descriptions for them and keep them live and also put them up on your new site. Careful setting up multiple sites and interlinking or you can get penalized

Digital Strategy For CPA (That Targets CPA's)
I think that's a good idea. They've indicated they primarily market through their own cpa middle market channel and do not market directly to companies, but I'm going to convince them to test the latter business model.

Link Building Question
I would comment here that it depends on the blog as to whether it looks natural to have the link drop there. If you submitted a long, detailed post that was a case study of how you got rankings, complete with screen shots of analytics, details of what you did, your successes, your failures, analysis of what you would do different next time -- you might be able to get that link. If you submitted a post that was generic reworded information from a similar post with nothing new, you wouldn't get the link or the post approved at many sites. Also, you might ask yourself would you find it natural to read about hemorrhoids on a technology blog? I wouldn't, and I feel many editors at technology blogs that accept posts also would not.

Effect of I-Frame on Google Rank
I've seen a few other real estate type sites take a hit similar to what you are describing. I attribute it to the amount of duplicate content across several real estate sites. I'd focus on creating unique content/promotions on YOUR site aside from the listings.

How related to your industry do your links need to be?
I prefer to think in terms of the audience where the backlinks are coming from. Will they be interested in what I have to offer? If not I don't see a massive amount of value in that link, so Google probably wouldn't either if they found a way to accurately judge that in their algorithm. I bet they're already capable of doing so by tracking bounce rates from links, and whether anyone bothers to click them. Of course there are exceptions; no one would say no to a massive viral hit that resulted in hundreds of links. Just think about whether it seems natural or not - Tom gives some good examples. With your own examples, an accountant could have written about celebrity finances and a lawyer about how the colour of their office improved client's success rate in court...but again are these links for links sake or targeted to an audience who might be interested in your product?

Is white text on a white background an issue when...?
Yes Dan something like that could get reported. You should do your best not to have this happen, mostly on a large scale, a single incident would likely be ignored.

Panda Refresh 21 Dec "Rankings Drop"
I still think that your anchor linking profile is too heavily weighted to the one term as it's over 60% the one keyword phrase. I don't profess to be an "expert" so it would be good for others to pitch in but a natural looking profile would be 80% brand name (company name) or that's the case if you check a site that hasn't had seo done to it. My experience of an over optimised anchor penalty is that you get relegated to the bottom of the pack in terms of searches. ie. you appear after all other relevant searches. Often this can be around 10 pages.
