  • great information here guys. Phil some of the info you have put out has been extremely helpful. We a client whose video producer published the video to Vimeo plus ( I know Vimeo Pro is much different) and subsequently has created the 3rd strongest listing for their name. Even though the video has been removed from Vimeo for 2 months it still ranks very high. What I've taken away from this is make sure whoever you're working with is using a business-class video hosting platform and does not publish work to something like Vimeo a service I feel is equal to YouTube in many ways ( aside from their Pro feature which will allow somebody to host a video appropriately.) Thanks for all the info, Thomas

  • well, so I guess the best will be the plugin as all the images on our site are way to big:-( But which one is better of the once PixelKicks recommended?

  • Is it possible to add Universal Listing icons/information to rank report PDF Exports? It seems like a no-brainer to include them to me, am I missing something? I have looked for a long time and asked around. I just want to be able to include the icons or some information about whether or not my clients are appearing in the universal results.

  • Essentially - no..... (unless you want to pay someone to do it for you) but if you managed to set everything up according to Wistia's SEO guidelines, you should be fine. I'd normally estimate it'll take 1-2 months for the snippet to show for a medium sized site with reasonable domain authority. For smaller sites, it can take longer and it can appear within a matter of weeks or days for stronger sites.

  • I'm going to take a stab in the relative dark and say this: 1. Building local links and citations should help as it would with any site. 2. It is unlikely that Google will assist you further than that. They appear to penalize broadly illegal sites, but they do not appear to get into the details beyond that. If you feel businesses are illegally offering a service, it seems like that would be more of a legal / regulatory issue than an SEO issue per-say.

  • Do a search for Farhoumand Dental.  At the bottom of the map inset on the right, click the link for claiming business ownership.  They will verify via address/phone number, which is still the same for Farhoumand rather than Avanti.  After you have properly claimed the business address, you should be able to change the website address to the new website.  Google is going to get their information directly from you, via Google Places.  Not sure if you can ask that the old Google+ page be taken down or not.

  • Good point, Linda! It's listed as the seventh most-influential factor in the Local Search Ranking Factors 2013, but that doesn't explain what you have, regarding organic factors and the cream at the top:)

  • Hi Noah, This is a known issue. If you have to re-verify, you are likely to see the 'do not support' message for several weeks until the listing has been approved. How long has it been since you did this? Here are some Google And Your Business Forum threads on this same topic: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/business/oUlJU0QNqGE http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!searchin/business/reverified$20do$20not$20support

  • You could create a DIV for each location and assign it the itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/PostalAddress" Inside add SPAN with the itemprop for each property. For the title use this: Bar Name instead of adding additional spans

  • I would recommend exploring the concept of geotagging images, as well, if this is for a local business.
