Question about reciprocal link building. I'm not an SEO professional, just a local service business owner.
Hi Jeff, I'd be surprised if it's hurting you in any way. However, it's good that you're thinking about it. Now could be a good time to modernize your approach to building relationships with (and links among) related businesses in your community. My latest post on the Moz blog is all about this, and you might find it a good read: https://moz.com/blog/2020-local-seo-success *See particularly the Q4 strategy section.

Do incoming links from my feedburner account help my SEO?
They might harm your website for Google duplicate content policy!

My site spam score increasing and decreasing automatically
The spam score is based on a lot of factors that MOZ's crawler takes into account. You can learn more about the how the spam score works here and see what's affecting your site. Having a high spam score doesn't automatically mean the site is spammy, but its worth looking into what's happening.

301 passing authority?
Hi there, I need to clarify that 301 redirections, definitely pass authority. That's not even a discussion. As you are asking about merging (I guess) 3 smalls websites into a fourth and big one, that's a really tricky question. It depends on many other factors, some are: Content matching Answering user questions Brand relationship In my experience, doing this kind of merging is a messy process and in many cases, it ends up losing some of the previous rankings/traffic already gained by the small websites. I'd suggest you focus on improving the main website and, if applicable link to that page from the small websites. If that overlap is harming your sales, your brand strategy or other marketing efforts, then you should act accordingly. But if these websites are different identities and by themselves bring sales, that overlapping might be beneficial for you in not letting competitors rank there ;). Hope it helps, Best luck!

Canonical for a Voting page
Hi, thanks for your reply, all makes sense, I had the same feeling regarding 1 and 2, just wanted a second opinion regarding this. Thanks for pointing those 404 errors. I am aware , they are caused by some periodic cleanup. Some gaming servers we list get shutdown and we need remove old inactive ones to keep the top list actual. Happy Holidays!

When conducting a link building strategy does it matter the country the link is from?
Hi, Hope this clarifies. It is not a penalisation, your links are telling to the algorithms of the search engines that your website is popular in the USA and not so popular in the UK. If your only target market is UK, not delivering to USA; At least 75% of your links should be local, related to the topic, low spam score, dofollow, hopefully PA over the one you are targeting and DA also over your website´s DA. Good luck! Mª Verónica

Keyword In category or page
I would recommend creating a page for it. You will be limited with the amount of on-site optimization and content you can add to a category page in most cases.

How to Building Backlinks for Product Page
The page you have linked to (https://www.fitness-china.com/dummbbell) is not a product page, it is a category page. Google doesn't really like paid or forced links, so the only way to really ascertain links to product pages (which Google will count towards their algorithm) is to ensure you have the best product in the market. If you have the best product (think USPs: is it the cheapest? Does it use some new technology which makes it better? Does it last longer? Is it healthier in some way than what came before?) then you can spread awareness using paid advertising. Word will get around and links will start to form naturally to your products. Keep in mind though, many people believe that their stock or products are the best - it's not always true. Your web audience will decide, one way or the other

SEO value of home page links
If google and the user can see the link, it is a link wich can pass value. No matter if it is rotating, spinning arround or doing other crazy stuff. This is not crazy stuff, just a carousel. And SEO value? These are sponsered links, like the headline above says. Ok there is not a rel nofollow /sponsor, but I bet it is not much value they are passing (if any). But not because of the carousel, because they are sponsored. Thats obvious for Search Engines. Pro Tip: If you think about a link, start to think about the value for you, your users or the users seeing that link, not the value for SEO or how much that link could boost your ranking.

What kind of backlinks should e-commerce sites require? WEB2.0?
I would recommend business directory citations, content sharing websites, guest post articles, resources page links mainly. You may also see some success with sharing relevant links to your website in related industry forums, relevant blogging comments or social bookmarking websites, although I would use these types of links sparingly compared to the first few types I mentioned.

Why my website is not getting rank?
Hi Alex, Actually, the website age is not that big of a ranking factor anymore. You can rank in the top positions with a website a few months old. Also, with just guest-posting is not enough to rank high. I'd suggest you take a deep and comprehensive read to the Moz's beginners guide to SEO. I think that there are quite a few things to optimize that you are missing. For example, title tags. You should make them more descriptive and focused on the main keyword/phrase you are willing to rank. Hope it helps, Best luck. Gaston

How can a high authority website get away with this?
"1. how would a company this reputable with a DA 90+ be building pages like this without major penalties? (i realize it is from .au (australia) but from research they own that site too)" - actually being a reputable site makes you less likelyto gain penalties rather than more likely. A smaller less reputable site doing the same thing, would be more likely to garner devaluations and / or penalties. When you become authoritative and reputable, you gain 'trust' with Google. That's a barrier which you can eat into, instead of losing performance. Imagine two people in a friendship who really trust each other, yet one betrays the other. In all likelihood, that trust will be consumed but the friendship will survive. Now imagine the same situation between two people who don't trust each other, since there's no love lost - they will say goodbye and part ways. It may be difficult for a moral, human mind to accept - but trust is a consumable resource and businesses use it as such (just how it is I'm afraid) "2. how exactly does this work? are they selling links to people? did my competitor pay them to replace my link with theirs? why create a page that sounds like robots wrote it" - Ask them. Find your old link using Wayback Machine, show them your link existed and that it was removed and replaced with a terrible quality link. Maybe they have a rogue editor on the inside and you could bring them to justice. Maybe (instead) they'll refuse to care and they will wall up (to protect themselves). In any case, you could at least ask (without getting nasty about it, don't pick larger battles than you can win) "3. would it be a good idea for me to try to get the link back? it certainly was helping considering i lost 5 DA points when i lost the link, but it goes against everything that makes sense in what I've read about toxic links and keeping things clean" - I'd certainly try to get it restored. Wayback Machine might be able to help you prove your case and disparage a rogue editor for illegitimate linking practices

Are long URLs bad for SEO?
After 512 pixels, Google will truncate your URL in search results pages. A good rule of thumb is to keep your URLs as short as you can, without losing their general meaning.

Links to sub pages
No, a domain is something like yoursite.com. Referral means coming from outside. If you have a link from yoursite.com pointing to another page on yoursite.com, in terms of SEO that is not counted as a 'referring' page (or domain). I don't know how Moz's tool views this, but in terms of how you should look at it, it's not to be considered a referring domain when you are doing domain-internal linking Internal site-link structure can help to push more deeply nested URLs up Google's rankings for more niche keywords (to the point where they should rank appropriately, not beyond that point). Keep in mind though, that links move SEO authority from one place on the web to another. A fraction of the linking URL's PageRank will be lost as it is transmitted to lower-level pages, so don't overplay this tactic or run with it too far, or your linking address(es) may start to slip down (slightly) If your site is big and well known with lots of SEO authority and trust, then there's not a lot to worry about. If your site is relatively green, you might see no benefit from the work or you might see higher level pages bleeding out
