Is a no follow comment section good or bad?
Correct. I double check all comments and follow them back to the owners site. If the owners site is spam I typically report it. So I think what you're saying is there isn't a downside providing your super diligent on monitoring the site...is that correct?

Link building techniques
http://searchengineland.com/google-forecloses-on-content-farms-with-farmer-algorithm-update-66071 Google changed it's algorithm recently to devalue low quality web sites. "content farms". This may or may not affect link directories, but I know that Google does devalue some links from directories as spam. Someone may step in and correct me if I'm wrong.

Adding to intl versions of Google?
Well, I'm listed in DMOZ along with my competitors. Why would google.com.sg show a different set of DMOZ listings? Maybe this is just random, or perhaps nothing I can do about it. I was merely trying to get the same (relevant) links my competitors had and was wondering if there's anything I can do to affect google.com.sg's showing them but not me...

More links with anchor text and higher PR links?
There are a number of factors to consider. The links: (i) Can take time for Google to pick them up. Are they showing in your webmaster tools? (ii) Do the links have a nofollow tag? (iii) How competitive is the first page ? (iv) In one of the latest SEOMoz reports, it has been suggested that exact keyword usage in anchor text may be less effective than broad usage. (v) How many is double ? from 1 link to 2 ? (vi) On-page content good? Refreshed it lately ? It is fine to redirect the non-www to the www with a 301 redirect. Hope the above helps!

Pretty basic question on how best to start using open site Explorer
There is a Webinar later this week titled "Using SEOmoz Tools to Acquire Whitehat Links" - it may be worth tuning in for that one. There is one later in the month on the future of link building too.

Tracking new inbound links
I have no experience with Majestic SEO, but I believe it has some of this capability.

Linkbuilding in unrelated blogs
I wouldn't want 300 casino and body part enhancement blogs linking to my site, but in general it's not a problem. Jen Lopez has mentioned my business (RC model warship combat boats) with a link in coverage on the SEOmoz blog in relation to a wrap-up post on an SES we both attended. I'm not going to turn down that link. A lot of the top links to our business in OSE are from SEO sites, as I usually liveblog a couple of conferences a year. Would I intentionally go out and try to build links from someone with a blog about fruit tree care as opposed to spending the same time and effort building links from a blog about WWII model ship plans? No, not at all.

Yahoo Link
I would say it depends on your specific category. If your category is broken into dozens of subcategories and then has multiple pages, probably not. If your category page is only page one, or has some pagerank or a good MozRank, then yes. There are some subpages in Yahoo that aren't even indexed in Google, which is absurd for 300/year.

Google cache my backlinks two days ago but i did not see results
You'll have to wait a LOT more. Results such as these coming from a couple backlinks might take weeks if not months to actually process into higher ranks for specific keywords. Hang in there, keep getting great links, and eventually your rank will start increasing!

The Value of Off-Topic Guest Posts
As long as these links are editorial given and are coming from good domains, I think there should be a lot of benefit in them. Of course links from related domains are better (if only for referral traffic), but I personally don't think they'll be devalued or be seen as manipulative.

EBay Amazon Links to eCommerce
Look at other ebay/amazon stores that link to their own website. Check out the source code and see if there is a rel="nofollow" attribute appended to the a tag of the link. If it's not there, you are in good shape search engine wise. User wise, you are definitely in good shape. Link to your company website so that you can show your potential customers that you are the best choice, especially compared to your competition. Offer them reasons why they should go with you and use testimonials to back it up. I don't think there is a downside to this

My customer needs to change hosts! What part of the SEO process should I worry about most? Backlinks?
Thanks itr Yes, sitename will be the same, just a host provider change. I realize there are other issues related to the switch, but needed confirmation on the back-linking. My intuition (but lack of years of experience) told me all will be well, I needed someone else to settle me down! Thanks so much itr.

Can anyone recommend a great link building firm?
Check freelancer.com for Indian SEO firms that can get you 1000 links for $1000. I'm kidding, don't do that.
