What to do with a new good looking site?
Your very welcome ennovation. And yes you do have a tendency to stare yourself blind on a design one did oneself, I know that all to well Just a final thought, since your also targeting an elder audience you should bare in mind that old peops have a nasty tendency to have old mashines with outdated browsers, so you should make sure that your final version supports IE6. Best of luck

Hotbot
Yahoo would be giving much more help than Hotbot in this case. Have you read Rand's recent post about the SERP Analysis tool? That may help you in looking at you and your competitor and finding out reasons the competitor is ahead of you. It's at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-best-kept-secret-in-the-seomoz-toolset

Twitter followers and link campaigns
I don't think you'll get much benefit from just sending a tweet to all and say please RT this or put a link somewhere. In my experience, especially with Twitter it is better to build a good relationship first and then start asking for a link or a RT. If you want more social signals you're probably best offering unique content that people want to share and RT themselves. The only thing I think would do harm is sending the tweet out - I'd expect to see a huge drop in followers.

Retain keywords with redirect
This is not a very good practice I'll tell you, hshshs, but they have. What you need to do, after registering the domain, make a page is fully optimized for the same keyword field. Optimize the title, headings, content, images, etc.. After the page to start earning position, maybe you have to win some links too. Only after she earns a good position, you wait a few weeks and makes the 301 redirect. Your site takes the position that page for that keyword. In the experiments I did, most sites have not lost the position. But some werelost over time, but still worth it. If only register the domain and do the redirection at the same time, will not haveany advantage and the possibility of the search engines interpret that is amanipulation is greater. I hope it helped

How to get a plain text instead of csv output for backlink analyzer?
Thanks I will give that a try.But it seems silly it is designed like this, very user unfriendly to have to jump thru so many hoops to get a plain list of the target urls that I want.

Is this link building concept white or black
Let's see. It's a link selling network. Google can follow networks. Patterns. IPs. Names. Sites.

Data for Articles and Infographics
1 At the top end you have research guys like Forrester research, Boston consulting group or even Econsultancy's paid reports. 2 Banks like Merrill Lynch & Capgemini publish the yearly World's Wealth Report and in general banks have a high output of financial and commercial papers. 3 Doing Google searches like japan report inurl:.pdf can provide a lot of papers on a topic. 4 Mendeley.com is a good place for finding scientific papers and connecting directly with scientists if you want a quote or specialist research done 5 Roll your own report with a surveymonkey survey I could go on all day talking about data sources, but without knowing what you need its not much use - the data source is dependent on the project, there is no one place to go S

Links on the same keyword
I wouldn't go so far as to call the extra links spam. They are not helpful to SEO. They just add extra links to your page. If you sincerely believe they are helpful for users, then leave them. Otherwise, I would recommend removing them.

Why aren't links to my site showing up in open site explorer?
I find that all the info on the Competitive Domain reporting in SEOmoz to ber completely inaccurate, i have over 300 links to my site showing in Webmaster Tools and other software but SEOmoz is only showing 12 linking root domains and this data has not updated now for several months. How are you supposed to provide regular accurate reports to your clients when this data is so outdated? I pay my monthly fee for up-to-date accurate data and I dont appear to be getting this....not happy

EBook
This is actually a good question and there is lots you can do, obviously the higher quality your ebook, the bigger the opportunity. A few ideas: Give it away for free, but make people share it (tweet it or share on FB) in order to gain access. This will provide you with social mentions and increased exposure which can also lead to links etc. Although to do this well you will need a good plan to seed it and get people talking and sharing intially (hopefully some strong 'gatekeepers'). This was done successfully at clockworkpirate.com which now uses the service cloudflood.com Offer it to worthwhile sites in your niche or closely related. Provide them with an embed code containing the ebook for download which also contains a link back to your site. Again, this will get you links and exposure as well as an opportunity to make relationships with good people within your industry. Alternatively you could just host it on your site, and go out and tell all in your industry about it. Maybe email it to a few of the top sites telling them their users can download it from your site. If the ebook is good enough and you ask correctly, they will spread the word, link to it, share it etc. If you already have connections in your industry you can probably just go off and start doing a lot of this stuff. If you don't, it maybe worthwhile holding off a little with the real 'high quality ebook' and go out and build some industry relationships. Get in forums, leave comments on blogs, get on twitter or FB groups and engage and interact, help people out etc.. then go and do the above as you will have the right connections to help you make this a success.

Link building
Page Authority. PA is real to us. We can see it. It is updated and we understand more specifically how it is calculated. Page Rank is used by Google, but they only update it for us a few times a year. Also the actual formula is secret which leaves us guessing. There are a few PR vs PA discussions which are quite good but bottom line is I don't use PR for anything.

Is backlinkbuild.com considered against Google policy?
Hey there, I have to agree with Marc on this one. Cutting corners with link building is never a great move. As a rule of thumb - the easier a link is to get the less it is worth.
