Site not showing for keywords
Hi Jo, Simply that your blog is only linked to in a footer link, it's not really integrated in to the site. Footer links are still an okay form of navigation, though I usually use them for less important pages like privacy or terms and conditions. Since most of your content is in there I would consider having it in the side or top nav instead.

Does Website Design Matter?
This is a great question. I think maybe you should start ramping up your content so that once your site is ready you can come blasting out with some great content. What I am saying is keep your blog posts as drafts and then launch once the site is ready. Personally, I wouldn't link or share a default WordPress theme.

Linksmanager and managedlinkbuilding any one use these
Hmmm well according to their faq its not stuff that is "paid" Every link on your site will be editorially earned, not paid. And yes, it matters big time because using paid links or "introductions" such as those offered by numerous "get a top rating quick" scammers can get your site bounced right out of the Google Index. But i guess aside from the monthly bill, for $29 or $99 a month and i get what i need i guess i cant complain. My question is are they really any good or i am just better off doing it the old fashioned way begging for links.

How to find if the Disavow Tool Submission was Processed?
I did not receive a message under my "Google Wembaster Tools" account for the Disavow Tool submission. I noticed the screenshot you referenced was for a Reconsideration Request. I wasn't interested in sending a reconsideration request just yet and wanted to get the Disavow Link tool processed first. This is why I wanted to learn how to tell if the disavow tool submission was successful or processed. I would then send a reconsideration request. I had already submitted both at the same time once before only to get it declined. So made some adjustments and want to wait to send the reconsideration request this go around until the disavow link tool was successfully processed.

Google to devalue guest blog links?
If the same article is published on many different websites and it has multiple text links pointing at a website and that website has lots of other articles that are published on many different websites with multiple text links pointing back... then the site runs a risk if being hit with a Panda problem. It does not matter if you call it a guest post or article syndication or something else, and the links don't necessarily need to be devalued. The content could have been written by Mark Twain or a Pulitzer Prize winner... its the pattern that causes the problem.

Has anyone used seolinkvine
Not quite up to date with their latest offering, but I've used it in the past along with many other content networks. Unlike many people here I don't think something should be ignored just because it's against search engine guidelines. If nothing else it's worth testing what's working, then figuring out why it's working. To answer your question; of the many large and small content networks I tested, SEOLinkVine produced the worst results by far. ALN and 10LAD both produced results, either in combination with other linking or on their own (before being decimated). SEOLinkVine did not. I see they claim to have updated but are selling the same results as before. If it didn't work then, I'm not convinced it will work now. Thoughts on proceeding. Personally curated content networks, or even joining some smaller editor driven content networks will still probably get you results, if done well. However when they get found out and discounted you'll be in trouble. Sites that I had propped up by these networks ended up with a penalty from which they've still not recovered. If you're after some shorter term success, might be worth doing, but in the long run you'll be better putting efforts into improving the site and relationships. .

Following Penguin, what is the best practice for a web design agency placing a footer link in client sites?
I know this almost a year after it was asked, but since I was doing a little research, I thought I'd provide a solution I came up with. When I design a site, I want an attribution link on every page. I can't rely on a visitor saying "I love this site, who designed it?" 3 levels deep, not finding an attribution at the bottom, then thinking that they'd find it on the home page. It doesn't even make good usability sense. So here's what I set out to do with my sites moving forward: Still doing Sitewide links, but only the link on the Home Page will be followed. All other links will be NoFollowed. If you use WordPress, you can use the following conditional statement. (Of course you'll want to replace your own Anchor Text and URL (unless you design pretty websites and want to give me the credit ). if ( is_front_page() ) { echo "[](;</span><span style=) [ echo "http://flauntyoursite.com"; echo ">Flaunt Your Site](;</span><span style=)"; } else { echo "[ echo "http://flauntyoursite.com";](;</span><span style=)[ echo " rel="; echo "nofollow"; echo ">Flaunt Your Site](;</span><span style=)"; } ?> It's important to leave the Space between the " and the rel=" otherwise it will collapse the url into something not readable and give you a 404 when you try to click it. Hope this helps some of you.

Footer Links when is it to much?
Linking to external sites from a footer is not harmful, unless the sites you are linking to are low quality sites. What can be harmful is receiving a lot of sitewide footer links with exact keyword anchor text. This can be seen as spammy by Google. Footer links & sitewide links in general also don't carry as much weight as in-context links.

SEO Value Of Non-Indexed Links
It can take a while before OSE shows the link, if at all. If it's not indexed by Google yet, I'd try to find a way to share it on G+.. I don't reccomend pimping URLs just to get indexed, but if you can do it conguently with your audience then it may help get the URL indexed faster.

Ads and their relatonship to Domain Aurthority
Thanks, While agree with your thinking, I was more specifically thinking about how in tune it would be with Google's Quality Guidelines. We publish information for Doctors, its very clinical. We never get much in the way of likes or shares with this community. In fact we are struggling with time on site as well, since all of our websites support print product where doctors seem (gulp) to have a preference. Thanks for your consideration and I agree with your assessment as well. Regards, Jeff Strassman

SEO questions
Hi Robin, before I provide my answers to your specific questions. I should point out there is a difference between SEOMoz.org's warnings and errors. In most all cases an error should be fixed. In case of a warning it is not necessarily something that has to be fixed, but a baseline understanding in the problem should be understood and if needed addressed. Meta Desc - provided meta desc (Warning) To fix this you simply need to review the page and if appropriate add a meta description. Note because this is a warning your page may not necessarly need a meta description. But with that in mind it maybe likely that the page itself has no SEO value so maybe safely blocked by using robots.txt. 404 error - provide live links (ERROR) To fix this problem click on the error warning and review what pages are creating links that link to a page that does not exist. Then remove the link from your page. dup page title - (Error) change the other page's title - will it affect the seo ranking of the page? You should not have 2 pages with the same title the most important of the 2 pages should be granted the use of said title. The other page's content if not enough to warrant its own page could be added to the main page, or change the title to something more appropriate for the page's content (re-write the content if needed). we believe its yes, so is it necessry to fix the error? Yes see above title element too long - we understand that some of the pages have too long title, to fix the error we need to change the title to shorter ones, but we are afraid if it will affect the seo ranking, just like the previous q (Warning). This is a warning you should mainly note anything over 70 characters will be ignored. While it won't necessarily hurt your page's SEO. Anything over 70 characters is being ignored which can leave un-attended titles. too many links - we understand that these links are from the submission we made previously, how will we fix this error? (Warning) This one goes way back, in the early days crawlers could not crawl pages with a ton of links so it was recommended early on to limit your number to 100, since then crawlers have been updated and can certainly and will crawl more then 100 links per page. However, the down side to having a ton of links on your page is you dilute the link value of the every link on the page. So if you're linking to pages that have little to no SEO value you are essentially leaking link juice you could be using to pass to higher value pages. Lots of info there, I hope it helps, Don
