  • Thank you for the thoughts I didn't think about that in this context before. That design would push the SEO.  I guess that is the curse of a template website is that it looks generic not custom tailored for the user or the brand per se Ryan

Recently I was attending #alex beckers' webinar and came to know some tips like adding a youtube video in the content(But that video must be ranking on top in your targeted keyword in the youtube's search engine). • OK well if you do a site:www.joomgeek.com in Google you will see that it shows the correct description, so there is no issue there. This now comes down to Google for each query, the engine will decide what to show and what not and may choose to re-write, it is normally a good sign that perhaps Google does not love the description and me be worth re-writing. When I took part of your description "Our webmarketing agency will help you to get the best ROI from your" and searched for it, it was on over 30 results, but your was nowhere. I would change it make it unique and submit it again.

  • Also don't overthink to much on the priority.  Set your changefreq to the appropriate (this signals google to crawl this pages more often or nog) Its a mistake to set this very with the idea, "i need to get my site crawled as much as possible". For unchanging content this can be a wrong thing to do and will affect your score negatively. But google states on this document that its not effecting your ranking at all.

  • It's kind of hard to understand this situation but Ill take a crack. Dont worry about Panda as long as you aren't one of those that squeeze the same grammatically wrong keyword phrases, over and over and over. Optimize the new content for the weaker words -> include those target key phrases -> internally link to the main page you want those to be optimized.

  • As you clearly want to put ads on these pages, then I would expect that youll be sending it  organic traffic. Then just make the content a lot better. Why settle?

  • Hi there, As has been pointed out, the rel=canonical tag is just a suggestion to Google that you don't want a page to be indexed or to rank. They can choose to ignore the tag if they want to. If you want to keep pages out of the index, there are a few options: The rel=canonical tag as you've tried Adding a noindex tag as pointed out above Use the URL parameters configuration option in Google Webmaster Tools Give that you've tried the first one, I'd recommend giving the second two options a try and seeing what happens. I hope that helps! Paddy

  • Hi CosminC, As Linda said, new sitemap + Fetch as Google in WMT. Once you "fetch" it, refresh the page and there should be a new button available Submit to Index. Click this button and choose - Crawl this URL and its direct links. This will effectively ask google crawler to visit and re-crawl your whole site and although Google doesn't guarantee anything, the crawler would normally re-crawl the site in the next few days.

  • One trick you can do is dilute the text pretty easily and make some small changes to make them compete with each other instead of one canceling two out like a duplicate content will get you. You could try something like this and it should be pretty easy to implement if you are using a template based cart system. Shop 1 - Just have the normal product description on the page and all of the standard text you have from your menu, ect basically changing nothing. Shop 2 - If your site is utilizing rich snippets, change them on a template level. Most work like this $template_variable So on the second site delete a little bit of the rich snippet data, say the condition and the manufacturer name. At the same time on every product page add a 200-400 word shipping and return policy. As the current standards are, that should dilute everything enough to look like a totally different page. Shop 3 - Basically the same as shop 2, change the rich snippet data that is sent a little. Maybe it could be adding manufacturer data that is not in the other templates, or taking something else that is non essential out of the template. Then add in on the product pages a different but meaning the same 100-200 word shipping policy. At the same time either add in an "about" section for the manufacturer, or if you have too many manufacturers for this to be reasonable add in an about for your company on every product page. By doing this you will make the pages compete with each other instead of making one page dominate. If you are using a template based CMS, the changes should be easy and should only take about an hr or two to do, minus the time to write the content.

  • Looking for the benefits of using this markup (https://schema.org/LocalBusiness) for profiles. Note: the website lists company information on profile pages, it is not a local business website.

  • Wouldn't there be cases where a trailing message could actually entice the viewer to click though? I know I've clicked on SERP titles before for that reason.

  • If Google was zapping people for matching title and h1 then my site would be toasted. If Google was zapping people for matching title and h1 then huge numbers of people would be busting into this forum crying that they got whacked. I think that the idea of Google punishing people for matching title and h1 is total rubbish.  Does anyone know and have a link to a serious person's website who is publishing this stuff?
