  • Under the performance tab and  general settings check to see if debug mode is checked. Not that I am expert on this plugin! It is very complex. Best!

  • display=none As a CSS style for your header. Won't be displayed but is still there for the links to be crawled. Not sure what you mean by "blacklisted" by Google here.

  • Simply file a DMCA complaint and their results from SERPS will be removed. It will not help you much if you ask them to add a credit link or something else. Moreover, if there are just 2 to 3 scrapper sites then first ask them to remove your content from their sites, mostly wouldn't reply if they are earning much from that scrapped content. If they don't reply then file a DMCA complaint. I think DMCA is the best option, I've seen ever.

  • My opinion is that if it is still one of the most relevant results in the search for that specific keyword then it will rank. I have seen website rank with 250,000+ duplicated pages.

  • That about liability is what I should think of. About on-page, I actually didn't use it anywhere except in title of tags on some pages with short title tag and it is still ranking good for those keywords even without any single mention of "top" or "best" Anyway, thanks for response. Will try to get some links from bloggers' top lists

  • I'd try to get really specific on two things; "traffic" - are you saying only Google traffic? All traffic? if it IS google traffic, did you notice if Google has actually crawled and re-cached the new version on the website? also, does traffic decrease evenly across all pages on the site? or is it limited to just certain pages or sections? "changing themes" - are these theme changes only design / skin changes - or do they affect URLs, internal links, content (such as page titles/descriptions etc) I think answering these questions really matters in terms of figuring out what happened. I think it's very unlikely for just a surface skin/design change to hurt traffic so much - there must be deeper things going on, and it's just a matter of figuring out what the specifics are.

  • Hi Joseph! It sounds like you have been busy and I'm sure you are ready to see the fruits of your labor! One thing that may be helpful to realize is how DA and PA work. There is quite a bit of delay due to crawl frequency and delays associated with the crawl and these metrics are delayed by approximately four weeks or so. This is the same reason that a recent article on HuffPo or TechCrunch will show a PA of zero. This could easily be what is going on here. I use a combination of more real-time metrics (i.e. AHREFS and Majestic) in addition to moz metrics. That being said, to increase DA/PA you have to build high-quality links into the site. My opinion is the best way to do this is to make ridiculously good assets and content and then promote them to influencers in the nice. Good luck with the site!

  • That's not ideal. If you're trying to do this programmatically in a CMS, perhaps there's a way to do something like: alt="Photo {Some Property}" alt="{Some Property}" alt="Photo" Using "Null" is worse than leaving it blank, I think.

  • Have you tried this tool? http://www.feedthebot.com/tools/richsnippets/breadcrumb/ It should be noted that just because you mark something up on the page doesn't mean Google will always use the markup in the SERPs. Here is an example SERP on which this page from Overstock.com has a breadcrumb.

  • Have you seen this All In One SEO Pack to WordPress SEO Migration Guide? It doesn't seem terribly difficult.

  • Good, relevant links are definitely a strong signal for getting your page ranked higher. If you're seeing competitors who are ranking for "the exact page," I'd take a look and see what they are doing that's working so well for them. For more info about better internal linking, I'd watch our webinar from August all about internal linking.

  • PS - While you cannot use tools alone to evaluate something so subjective, you can use them to speed up the process. If you have been tracking the performance of your site in Google Analytics, you may want to start there, and use your analytics to identify your best and worst performing pages based on your unique goals (that this, what you are hoping to accomplish with your content). You can identify duplicate content and poorly optimized pages with Moz Analytics, as well as identify the pages that are earning the most (and least, if any) natural links. For details on how to do an in-depth content audit, see http://moz.com/blog/content-audit-tutorial. Hope that helps!

  • James is correct, you can force a crawl with this tool up to 3,000 pages. Regardless, Rogerbot crawls each site that you have a campaign set up for on the same day each week. (Go to the crawl diagnostics page to see the date of the last crawl.)

  • Hi Dana, I´m doing exactly what you said, I´ll go to Webmaster Tools to remove the versions. Thanks a lot, you´ve been really helpful!

  • By now you may already know that Google have suggested to site owners listed under Webmaster Tools that they list four versions of their site when using HTTPS. So for us who are just initiating this move, we have to list http://redwrappings.com.au http://www.redwrappings.com.au https://redwrappings.com.au and finally https://www.redwrappings.com.au. Then they suggest making https://www.redwrappings.com.au the preferred site. I have an associated question - we are looking at using the Cloudflare CDN with its associated SSL certificate. Will there be any negative SEO effect using this SSL cert as opposed to our own? Thx, Graham
