Does Too Many On-Page Links on a Page Really Matters?
I can assure you that it really does matter. I am currently working on bringing down the number of links on our page, since we have a (too) extensive menu at the top of the page. It has almost 100 links alone. And as far as I can see our index pages and pages in general do not accumulate as much pagerank as one should think. When the SEO gurus say a maximum of 100 links on a page, they mean it. And it matters Another thread on the matter: http://www.seomoz.org/q/will-a-mega-menu-on-all-pages-dilute-the-link-juice Best regards, Rasmus

Onsite Explorer busted?
I've been having issues accessing OSE in Google Chrome browser. It still seems to work fine for Firefox and IE for me. Are you in Chrome? Have you tried a second browser?

SEOMOZ crawler ignoring redirect?
I just want to make myself a little bit clearer here. While I appreciate any advice on why the site's rankings might be (mildly) affected, I am more interested in finding out why the site might have been penalized (which is most probably the case). Here are my suspicions: I had three articles that were 45% duplicate - thanks to one of my writers, may he rest in peace ;)), but they were removed/rewritten 2 months ago I had a guy build some links for me about a year ago and he set up a link wheel without my consent, so the link profile might be a problem (too many similar links?) Duplicate content because same article exists on my site with different URLs? Too many links from main page (as suggested by your colleague, although I doubt very much that this can cause a penalty) Panda related - although my content is of good quality Site structure for the multiple languages (.net for german is one Joomla installation, and the other /xlang/ is a separate Joomla install where I use Joomfish for the various translation Any ideas?

Does microformats improve my ranking?
The fast answer is: No. Or, at least, there aren't actually studies, which offer correlated data about Microformats and Rankings. What Schema.org allows is a better, semantic, comprehension of the content of your pages by the Search Engines;; an higher % of CTR We may also hazard the hypothesis that Google may consider the CTR percentage an user signal valid also for ranking purposes (as, similarly, it may be the Bounce Rate percentage), but - still - we are in the fied of hypothesis. What is sure, it is that doesn't exist a direct causation between microformats and rankings. Finally, about your products being listed in Google products, again, there is not a direct causation between having your products listed in the Product vertical and organic ranking. Both are based over different algorithms, as it happens when we deal with Local Search and classic organic results.

Whats the point of Geo Tagging?
David nailed it, from what I have researched. Long of the short, it carries little to no value on national campaigns, and a little value on local campaigns. Since it is so easy to do, and if your campaign is local, might as well use it.

SEOMOZ tool - on page optmization question
Hi Terrie, Don't feel bad about asking the question at all - this is a tough topic to get your head around! In fact, rather than butcher an explanation and confuse you more, I would recommend you read this excellent post from Rand How to Solve Keyword Cannibalization. The post is from 2007, but still the best and simplest explanation of how to fix the problem that I have seen so far. I would suggest you read the comments as well - Rand has dropped a whole lot more excellent information in his answers. The key to seeing the difference here is not just about the keywords, but the anchor text and which pages the links are pointed to. Once you follow the structure illustrated in Rand's post, it should become much easier to understand, and also much easier to spot the problem when you look at the pages on your site. Hope that helps, Sha

Ranking for specific pages
You are seeking a fast and easy reply. There is not one. The right answer requires analysis of your niche and site. The quickest answer I can offer is...determine how your site's visitors are most likely to locate your site. Are people most likely to look for Cleaning Supplies then look for a local location? Or are people more likely to look at their local location, for example Chicago businesses, then look up cleaning supplies.

Is On Page SEO Dead?
ShiveS, Hope you don't mind me barging in here. H1 tags, the value of conspicuously placing your keyword in H1 tags throughout the page is very questionable in terms of actual value. However there is more to on page than just "Algorithm SEO Value" If your visible post or page title is tagged H1, which by default usually is tagged H1. Then you want your visitor to definitely see the targeted keyword or a synonym at the very least. **Bounce rate and time on page is of exceptional value to the major search engines. ** If you're page title "visible title" in the SERPs is the same or VERY similar to what the visitor sees when they land, a visitor is going to be a happier visitor when they arrive, happy visitors hang around longer and they interact more. Alt tags, there is absolutely no doubt that a post or page that has images or info-graphics properly alt tagged will do better than a straight text block of text (all other things being equal) again, both for the visitor and for the SE to know what the essence of the article is. Link Titles, that sounds like an off page element? If you mean anchor text, do you mean the anchor text of the "Interlinks" around your site, ie the links on your site that point back to the page in question, I can't imagine any reason in the world why those pointing links/anchor text would not be highly relevant to the destination page. If you mean the anchor text on the page in question pointing to other pages on your site, again, I can;t imagine any SEO or Visitor value reason why anyone would place the Target Keyword on page A as the link anchor text to unrelated page B? If you think there may be a problem with On Page being dead, try this: Write the best article you can about your topic, really "the best" relevant, readable, resourceful, long and make the Title something completely different, do not add any images, or alt tag images incorrectly even, and do not point any links anywhere back to that page, and do not point any resource links off the page. So, the article is about Laptops and the Page Title is Kitty Litter. The image is a graphic about the top 10 laptops, and it is alt tagged "Kitty Litter". No links anywhere. You tell me how that page will rank, then wait patiently for 60 days and do all the On Page stuff you would normally do. Which way do you think the page will rank better. On Page SEO is NOT Dead.

.com.com extension?
I will admit that the URL itself is a little weird but if you are pulling this from a tool in SEOMoz it will tell you what other pages have the same title as your homepage. Not sure why this is picked up but your title tag is <title></span><span>Andie Mueller Web Works | Wordpress Support | SEO</title> so I would just verify other pages are not using this and if you cannot find it, well I wouldn't worry too much.
