Does Google index dynamically generated content/headers, etc.?
Hi there, Not sure I have enough information to weigh in on the first part of your question - Google will index whatever it sees on the page. If you deliver the content to Google, then they index it. The problem comes when you deliver different content to different users. Try a tool like SEO Browser to see how googlebot views your site. http://www.seo-browser.com/ To answer your second question, its often hard to rank near-duplicate pages for specific cities/states without running into massive duplicate content problems. Matt Cutts himself actually addressed this awhile back. He basically stated if you have multiple pages all targeting different locations, it's best to include a few lines of unique content on each page (I recommend the top) to make each unique. “In addition to address and contact information, 2 or 3 sentences about what is unique to that location and they should be fine,” Source But this technique would be very hard with only 300 product page. The alternative, stuffing these pages with city/state information for every combination possible, is not advised. http://www.seomoz.org/q/on-page-optimization-to-rank-for-multiply-cities So in the end, it's actually not hard to rank for city-state keywords without having it in the URL, but the information should be in the content or other places like the title tag or internal link structure - but to do this for 1000's of locations with only 300 pages without keyword stuffing is near impossible. The best thing to do is figure out how to create unique content for every page you want to rank for, and take that route. For example, I might create a "Seattle" page, create unique content for the top of the page, then list 50 or so products with the unique Seattle prices. (This is a rough strategy - you'd have to refine it greatly to work for your situation. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.

Issues with Product Pages Getting Index In Google
I meant to post the URL that the rel="canonical" is pointing to, it is not indext. Several of them that are the rel="canonical" are not index. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/43/-/203/798/-/28948/Camelbak-Blowfish-2013\. So you do not think it is the content? Why are some indexing and others not that have the same navigational structure? Also how would you recommend cleaning the numbers and multiple directories up?

Making a subdomain more search engine friendly?
Subdirectories are treated as (almost entirely) separate sites so your best bet is to just get the name you want, optimize it how you would a full site and not worry about the address being on.volusion.com The keyword you choose for the domain won't matter much (EMD for weak sites) so all that matters is getting the on-page done quickly and starting your content/networking/growth. If you have a specific subdomain question I can try to help but generally, just treat it like its own site.

Does having more products in a category than others help with ranking that page with a particular keyword like iphone cases. We have thousands of products and wondered if it would hellp these all being on the website.
I do not think the number of products has any effect. Unless you just had a few products and customers get on the site, don't think you have enough selection and leave right away. Google will take a high bounce rate into consideration.

The ideal page title
Since it sounds like the site just recently started 'doing SEO' I'm guessing it doesn't have a very established backlink profile. I'd also assume that 'Wedding Photography London' would be a pretty competitive term with some established companies sitting on the first page. Look into finding a more long-tail KW to focus on. What makes your Company special? Photojournalistic Wedding Photography - London, Essex Artistic Wedding Photography - London, Essex Black & White London Wedding Photography Traditional Wedding Photography - London, Essex Natural Light Wedding Photography - London, Essex All of these title tags above help create a stronger, more unique brand. It is better to rank top 3 for a less competitive term than it is to rank 20+ for a competitive one. As your domain becomes more powerful, you can update your title tag to go after the more competitive term.

How to ALT tag correctly many similar images?
Yeah, just keep it natural - if that is the best way to describe the image, then go for it. If something else is a better way, then choose that.

Title tag formatting
As another data point, we are still including 2-3 keywords in title tags and have not suffered for it yet. We often do something like KW1, KW2 & KW3 | Brand or KW1 - KW2 | Brand depending on whether the keywords are very close variations or somewhat dissimilar terms.

IFRAMES - SEO Question
Joseph First of all, there's business value in doing that right ? Otherwise, you wouldn't be doing it. Right ? Now having other websites browse your website in an iFrame, I'd say yes, the browsers and the bots know it's your website they are browsing, it's just the frame around it that's from that other website. I would research to look into if there's a way for you to make it into some sort of a White Label (Powered by) kind of solution. Are you providing this solution for free or for a fee ? You'd also have to worry about ease of implementation etc so I understand why you are considering an iFrame because from an implementation perspective it's probably the easiest route. Honestly, I would think more from a business perspective and do it if this means more business or branding for you. I hope this helps. Maybe, maybe not.

Scripts question
I mean 'view source' not generated source. What I tried to say is that Google will see exactly the same code as you do when you right click on a page and click 'View source code'. So to answer your first question _' I have a H1 that will be replaced with a canvas by jquery script. Will search engines see the H1 or the canvas?' _Just check the source code of your page to find out. Javascript/ajax can cause problems for Google to index the content as far I know, but I'm not an expert in this.

Using display: none in h1 tag
Yeah, its better to ask then do something bad such as hidden content which google would not like in the slightest!

Should we consider redirecting a high ranking subdomain page to our homepage?
Ok, this is tricky one Brad! There are situations that you should consider before you go ahead and start doing this, but before everything just go to your Google Analytics and see how much search traffic you are receiving to your design studio page and what keywords are they using to search your page. If good %age of people who are landing from search are using your brand name then I think you can go with it but if they are using specific design studio related keywords, this action can really hurt their user experience. In my opinion you can also test this idea by adding 302 redirect for few days instead of 301. If things works well for you then you can always change from 301 to 302 but if you see bounce rate is increasing or something you can always change by removing 302 and then the new page you have created, 301 it to the design studio page. It’s difficult to say how people will react to it but testing the stuff (while being on the safe side) is a good idea.

Is my blog simply duplicate content of my authors' profiles?
From the CMS point of view, it is mainly published by one person. I might ask a professional in the particular field to write an article about something related to my products and then post it as my brand, with an introduction about the author.

Too Many On-Page Links error
Hi Radhey, I honestly would take this report with a grain of salt. When you ask if the links here are included: sidebar/comments/related posts without seeing directly, my initial answer is "yes" they are counted. There are times when a large page with a lot of outbound links (more than 105) are good for the end user. You know, if it makes sense for your business and your customers, then I would take this report with a grain f salt. Here's an example. We are a large e-commerce site. We are authorized resellers of numerous brands. We want our users to be able to see that and access their favorite brands easily, so we have this page: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/shop-by-brand That page has a ton of links, but it's the best way (right now) for our customers to see and find their favorite brands. I wouldn't worry about this report too much, honestly, unless you've spammed a page with 100's of links, which it definitely sounds like you did not do. Hope that helps! Dana

Which pages on my site should I back link to
I think there is a lot of value in getting backlinks to interior pages, often referred to in SEO as "deep-linking." However, you need to be really careful about how you pursue this. Naturally, I Website gets most external links pointing to its homepage and a much smaller fraction pointing to interior pages. If all of a sudden you start getting a disproportionate number of external links to deeper parts of your site (i.e. product pages on an e-commerce site) with very specific anchor text, your link profile is suddenly going to change. That could cause Google to do a double take and possibly consider those links as suspicious. You definitely don't want that, so just be cautious and only do it when it's a natural linking situation from a reputable site. Hope that helps! Dana

Sold Products appear as duplicate pages 'Page Not Found' ???
Woohoo! Yes, I think it's a great solution too. I have a lot of respect for B & H Photo (even though they are a competitor, lol) - They know what they are doing.
