  • Hi John, You will need a entirely new sitemap for your mobile site. I would recommend also verifiying you mobile site in Google Webmaster Tools to make sure you can track all your data in there. This will also make it easier to verify and submit your sitemap within this profile. I would myself not prefer to have the mobile sitemap in my normal site account because these two are separate things.

  • Would you mind explaining to me how you are finding this information. What do I need to look for specifically? I'm having the same issues except there's 11 blocking script resources and 13 blocking CSS resources. I'm not finding too much information on searches (that I understand) nor do I understand Google's mod_pagespeed. Thank you very much. Sorry to highjack the forum. It was the only Q&A that came up in the Moz search.

  • When you set up the campaign did you select the first radio button that said "Subdomain" because that tracks only one subdomain such as getpromoted.in. If you select the second radio that says "Root Domain" then that will track multiple subdomains within the domain such as blog.getpromoted.in or forum.getpromoted.in. Hope that gives you somewhere to start.

  • If those pages are only accessible to logged in users then you could block them in robots.txt .  If you nofollow the links pointing to them as well then it will stop the urls getting indexed by Google.  I'd assume that moz would then honour the same and stop returning that error.

  • I personally use /%postname%/ in my Wordpress blogs. Reasons for this: Keeps the URL short. Short URLs are easier to share (and perhaps remember) Ensures you have only keywords in the URL (post dates, post IDs are redundant) Better alternative to /%category%/%postname%/, unless you are sure you will never change the category of your post. If at some point you are "spring-cleaning" your blog and changing the categories of your posts, it will affect the URL of your posts, thereby affecting SEO. You can manually edit the permalink of each post in Wordpress now, which makes it even easier to ensure you include keywords, and keep it short (in case you have a long postname). Hope that helps!

  • That is why I 301 redirect all of my 404 banks simply because Google has already indexed and archived them as I mentioned. So you need to 301 redirect the links I hope this helps sincerely, Thomas

  • Do you happen to use the same keyword and by mistake having a capital(s) letter? (example: xxxx xxxx london and xxxx xxx London?) it happened to me once and I got different reports and different ranking positions. Maybe a glitch or indeed Google sees it as a different keyword. not sure Hope it helps!

  • Thank you all Karl, yes thats right. I just picked these 2 pages and submitted them "fetch as google" and both pages have been indexed shortly after. Holger

  • Thank you everyone and Matt, I agree Moz should have an option to click on that error 'ignore' or 'fixed' so it doesn't worry us.

  • Hey Guys, Thanks for all the reposes. I have changed it and it seems that the on page optimizer is still using the cashed version. The problem is that it's been almost 6 days I might try and send an email to the help

  • Hi, I would guess that creating city/product landing pages wouldn't do you any harm. Just substitute CITYNAME in the usual places Tile, H1 tag etc.. on the catalog category or landing pages and as the products would be using different copy you should not have any duplicate content issues. For shopping carts or static pages you could create 2 versions of the respective landing pages or page parts  ie the position of banners, or alternative versions of copy and run A/B split tests or multi-variant tests which you will be able to analyse in Google analytics or a similar system. I don't know what technology you use but this facility is available in good e-commerce systems such as Magento for example. Some companies such as CityVisitor (UK) or Infoserve (UK & INT) offer guaranteed keyword listings in specific cities but we found them a very expensive alternative to good organic SEO.  Richard

  • You  would need to know how many pages you actually do have before you can figure out if something is wrong.  As far as your authority and trust, over how long a time have they been dropping?  You should be looking at your analytics to see if your search traffic is down and looking at your rankings to see if those have changed.  Have you established a baseline on those factors yet so you can track how your site may be deviating from those measurements?  Do you know if you have redirects set up between your www and non www versions of your site?

  • It could be months or it could be days--like I said, you just have to wait it out.  With that many pages focused on keywords pertaining just to pressure washing, you're really going to need to get some links happening to the site to get it crawled and all those pages to show up in search results.  Be sure to watch  A Manifesto of Content Marketing - Moz and the-guide-to-developing-a-content-strategy-for-boring-industries

  • I am using Yoast. I did the recommended settings. But Google seems to be ignoring the archive settings and indexing past page 1. Can I reboot Yoast or something to try and get it to "take"? I don't use tags or author archives and those are noindexed. My archives show the full article. I would like to do a preview but without a picture it is just way too boring. I should probably figure out how to show a picture preview. I am using Genesis. Suggestions?

  • Some fantastic Replies, thank you very much. I think I will be removing the exclamation marks simply due to the number of titles that have too many characters anyway. The point about the positioning of the keyword was also good, that had completely skipped my mind on this occasion! I'll see what difference removing them makes to the CTR and weigh up the options. Thanks

  • Webjobz, The crawl diagnostics summary warning for too many links occurs at 100 links on the page and is based on this info: http://moz.com/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many.  You're not likely to be penalized but there is science behind the number so you should look to be more frugal with the number of followed links on your page.

  • You should safely ignore and remove Meta Language Tag. Meta Language basically, gives instruction to browser that the page should only be displayed in the language as prescribed. In absence of this tag, if a visitor of other country, having different language visits the site, Google browser provides a translation of page so that the user can aptly view the details

  • Writing content with the keywords you want to rank is great, but just don't overuse them. There's a thin line between mentioning the keyword and stuffing an article with it. There's been a lot of chatter about the percentage of how many times your keyword should be mentioned within the text, however, I suggest you go with a "user target" in mind. Don't build content for search engines, build it for users!
