Duplicate Content on WordPress Blogs?
I am having a very difficult time with SEO by Yoast regarding duplicate title tags. I was also having duplicate page content because of all the cateories I have with my client's menu items and it wasn't apparent that SEO Yoast had an on off switch for robots meta tags for anything else than posts and pages, not categories. (Am I missing something here?) So I went the a la carte method and used two plugins that I have had good luck with, "Page Meta" that takes care of posts, pages and categories title and meta descp and "Robots Meta" to make the categories no-follow. I do love SEO by Yoast for the Page Analysis tool that is really fast for on page seo. Any thoughts as to this approach? I wonder about slowing down my site's speed with this approach.

Too many links on page?
Hello! Approx 150, when I use the SEO page optimizer, it gives me an A Total 22 and that seems to be the only issue. It is a big ecommerce site, & at the bottom of the pages I have "HOT EVENTS" that follow through the site, just to help with navigation near the footer. Do you think this is a bad idea? Its been this way for a few months now and rankings are pretty good, I just want to be safe. Thanks!!

Any article sites that actually still rank welll?
I don't know of any. 100% of our effort goes into our own sites.

Benefits put my blog inside website or outside the website
I'd agree with David - the benefits of having high quality content on your domain far outweighs the benefits of hosting your blog elsewhere and linking back to your site. A blog on your site will hopefully bring traffic and links to your site.

If you have the time, you can do one yourself too. Check out http://infogr.am/. They setup a couple of cool templates and you fill everything in. It's actually pretty fun to do too!

Name Some Ecommerce Sites That NAIL Blogging
Totally agree. It looks like they even post multiple times per day. With that kind of content generation they make sure they are finding the pieces that connect with their customers.

Ideas for Redesigning, Relaunching, and Revitalizing a Community of Bloggers
The audience is generally pretty savvy which is why I wanted to see what everyone thought (lots of SEO's and very active bloggers). It makes sense to me to get their input, continue to refactor the code, and enhance the site even more. Then, I do really like the idea of working with the most active users to get some testimonials on our support team and the site in general. Thanks! That's exactly the type of advice I was looking for. When I first asked the question I realized it might seem obvious to do an email blast, but we really want to do it right and that usually means taking it slow and being more strategic. Thanks again!

I absolutely agree with WordPress. Wouldn't use anything else if given the choice.

Does Google really ignore Noindex pages?
If you noindex the short pages, Google will (or at least should) ignore them in search. This is a commonly employed tactic for large E-commerce sites to their indexed product pages to allow them to concentrate their efforts on the more mainstream product lines. Everett Sizemore covers this technique in his E-commerce SEO pro-webinar http://www.seomoz.org/webinars/ecommerce-seo-fix-and-avoid-common-issues Hope that helps

Need help deciding how to display directory listings in way Google will like best
Good quetions. "Why are you creating a directory for your blog?" I already have a hand-made beginning of a directory of sorts--the major majors in some major categories. It is desirable on the site as it is a new industry and not everyone knows all the players. So, I am doing it to serve my readership and of course to then increase backlinks and visits to the site. "Is the blog an industry specific blog of some type?" Yes, it's specific, and it's a hot new industry with new vendors almost daily. "What are you hoping to gain from having the directory?" Backlinks and traffic. It's not really to get ad clicks on those page, but of course that would be nice. There really is no other good directory for this industry now. "Is it something they pay for or do you allow them to be on it for free?" Free. Although in the future I could always make it a profit center with premium placements, section sponsorship and the like. After thinking about these questions, maybe option #2 with the best. Well, it's the safest and the least amount of work. Although, I could go with option #1, and when they submit the description part I could tell them that if they want to control exactly as their listing appears they can submit unique content; otherwise we reseve the right to rewrite it in any way we like. And we can give them a Copyscape test for it so they know. Now, one other thing to consider: While many of the companies are small and not "brands" so much and I have a good chance to rank for them since my site is so strong, many are certainly brands and with Google the way it is now, I likely would not stand a chance to rank for the company names anyway.

Can you have too many words on a page for SEO?
I usually add the largest portion of content to the home page, around 1200 words, and then make the inner pages around 300-600 words, but it really depends on what the page is about. If I have a page with a good topic I will add more text as long as it is relevant to the keywords.

Can you help me with my options on publishing others' news releases on my site?
Bizzer, First, you have to answer for what purpose are you doing this. Then, if you just want some content that is fresh, but not a lot of it, you could really go with an RSS feed. (Especially if by not in the same flow as your blog means sidebar content.) Also, as to textbrokers, etc. Here are some options: AP has different levels of 'membership' with different cost levels. You can get the type that is just getting news or you can actually be a member and rewrite their content as the newspapers do. (Frankly, some of their writers seem to get content that isn't theirs... ). You could simply hire a copywriter and give them a few parameters on what you want or don't and put out a couple of news pieces a week if cost is major consideration. You can find good copywriters who would do smaller pieces for hourly or less than big bucks. Depending on the type of news you want, use a form for your vendors to "fill out" about the story where there is enough info that you are a copywriter could rewrite for them. Then, let them use it and link back to you. (Frankly, I like this answer a lot). So, you get some basic info on the "news" they have, e.g. Bob McBob is new head of IT at supercomputers is us! They put in how long with company, education, age, three bullet points about his previous and three about new role, and you write a 100 to 200 word release on it. Company gets a nice piece for their site, you get a link and some news for yours. Well on 3 I would be curious as to where or how you are posting the news. And, you can use Adsense on a noindex page as long as it meets the other criteria for adsense. A caveat is the ads served may not be as relevant as on a followed page. Best of luck,
