All In One SEO PACK Configuration - Index or Noindex?
Thanks Phil I guess my main concern is avoiding duplicate content situations. So it sounds like only allowing categories to be indexed is the best bet

What are some of the best website hosting platforms for Wordpress?
I would suggest to stay away from any host that uses the word "Unlimited". There's nothing called Unlimited. Cheap Hosting Plans with Unlimited Space, Unlimited Bandwidth are crap. Once your website starts getting popular, it will use CPU time and when that happens, they will shut down the accounts. I am a fan of ASO - ASmallOrange.com

What is the best practice for replacing an old xml sitemap?
Depending on the size of your site, I would probably break your sitemap up into categories for better monitoring. Sitemap.xml (sitemap index of all your sitemaps) sitemap-blog.xml sitemap-categories.xml sitemap-main.xml sitemap-videos.xml (if you have any videos you should create a video sitemap, different then a standard sitemap) When you have them all complete and tested, then submit them to both Google and Bing via Webmaster Tools. Does anyone have suggestions for a good XML Sitemap Generator?
Google will look for /sitemaps.xml. This is pretty standard. Some people may not name it that way - not advised. But if you're using the other sitemaps for images, videos, etc, then you can use the robots.txt file to tell search engines where they are explicitly. Also, be sure to set up an account at http://www.google.com/webmasters/ and submit your sitemaps there.

Where is the best place for Landing Pages to reside on the Home Page?
Also, Would love to hear your thoughts on Title Tags? I know the best practices that SEOmoz suggests, however One expert I spoke with recently in local search and google places believes that putting your company phone number in the title tag helps get local rankings with blended search (both organic and google places) They also say that Google still credits title tags longer than 60 characters. G may not show the full title tag however users are still getting credit for them even if longer than supposed to be. Below are 3 examples that the expert mentioned above suggested. Austin Office Space 78701 | Commercial Real Estate 512-861-0525 | Search Rent and Lease Listings In Austin TX Austin Office Space For Rent - 512-861-0525 - Find Retail and Commercial Property For Lease in Austin TX Austin Office Space [image: numbers_button_skype_logo.png](512) 861-0525 - Find Commercial Real Estate Property For Lease in Austin Tx What are your thoughts? I am looking for guidance on a good HOME page title tag to use for the website www.AustinTenantAdvisors.com

Google Penalizing Websites that Have Contact Forms at Top of Website Page?
@ John - Sounds like a useful experiment for someone who can code and wants YouMoz exposure. @ G.L.A. - G's "business model" is to use search to sell ads and not to provide the "best" results. I would not be surprised at all if G is now penalizing large contact forms, contact forms above the fold, etc. at least as harshly as some of the earlier Panda updates penalized over use of AdWords. If Adwords ads are not immune under certain conditions, why would contact forms for the site itself be treated more generously assuming all other things are equal ?

Google Maps Reviews Disappearing - So Where is the best place to host them now?
Good question. Lets make sure you have the right information and you understand what is happening before you come up with a strategy to fix it.........there isnt an easy way to work with traditional third party review sites because of the issue google had with yelp and others....so it has created a small void in the marketplace. You have to build the history back up with google places and hotpot and google maps reviews....THAT IS YOUR BEST OPTION. Don't forget about the other third party review sites, because everyone believes that google is still using that info for relevancy and quality score.... Here is feedback from Google on why they were removed and some additional thoughts on why no third party reviews can really make a huge impact on building the seo value back up......... The official reason the changes were made is that Google has said it wanted to remove the "spammy reviews". Here is googles official response. There is a detailed technical response posting on googles site. here is the link.... http://support.google.com/places/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2445832 Here is what they said: "You may have seen reviews suddenly disappear from your listing. A few reasons why that may be the case: Reviews from third-party websites are no longer displayed on Google Places listings. Below the reviews by Google users, we may link “Reviews around the web” on third-party sites. Reviews are removed from Google Maps because they exhibit spammy behavior. We can't share specifics about what signals we use, but our goal is to provide end-users with high-quality information they can trust and use that info to make informed decisions. We also remove reviews that violate our content policy guidelines. We know that sometimes our algorithms may flag and remove legitimate reviews in our effort to combat abuse, but believe that overall, these measures are helping to ensure that the reviews appearing on Place pages are authentic, relevant and useful. Here's our reviews posting guidelines and policy: http://goo.gl/LtFCS We have data spread across multiple databases, and we bring all that information together to create your local listing. Reviews can sometimes be dropped from Place pages when we’re trying to reconcile all that information. As we mentioned at the beginning of this note: This is a known issue, and we are working to make it better. Occasionally, there is a technical issue that causes Place page reviews to drop from Google Maps for a short period of time (a few days) and then reappear on your listing. This happens every several weeks, when we push out a giant housecleaning update to our listings database. Again, this is a known issue, and we are working to make it better." That is what google posted. Now the unofficial explanation is they had disagreements with several review sites like Yelp where they wanted free access to all the review content and then would basically undermine yelps positioning in search by posting yelps and other review sites info....yelp said no way. They decided to stop taking the info from third party sites. To solve your problem you have to make sure you have solid google places, hotpot and maps reviews and citations..... Hope this helps.

Will changing the title tags cause me to lose rankings?
HI Doug, Thank you for your input a while back! Wanted to see if you could give me some insite on best practice for this........ On this site http://www.austintenantadvisors.com/ I have my main landing pages listed in the navigation under "Types". The reason why I did this is because I am not sure where to put those on the home page where it does not look spammy to Google and looks natural for users. Obviously they need to appear someone on the home page for Google to be able to crawl and index them. Your thoughts?

Are missing Meta Tags a big deal on a blog?
Agree with Matt. There's no point ranking if nobody ever clicks on your link. If you can make your Title/Description combinations compelling / relevant then it's possible for your entry to punch above it's weight and get more clicks then you'd expect from it's position. Or conversely your entry might not get the clicks you expect if your titles/description aren't connecting with your audience. If you're got hundreds of missing meta-descriptions then I'd start by looking at your important pages.

How can I tell which website pages are hosted on the root domain vs the www subdomain?
Thanks Dr. Meyers. I did a 301 redirect for everything to go to www. Hopefully that fixes it. Thank You!
