Is there any benefit of having a .tv tld instead of a .com for a video centric website?
Google itself bought the exclusive rights to the .app TLD so there's that in the custom TLD column, but like you and others say here, .tv isn't one like that.

Client has moved to secured https webpages but non secured http pages are still being indexed in Google. Is this an issue
Hi, thanks for your questions! Don has provided some great advice. In addition, you should verify both the http and https versions of your site in Google Webmaster Tools, and configure each account according to Google's guidelines for webmasters at https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6033085?hl=en&ref_topic=6033084. (You can also use GWT to tell Google your site has moved, denote the new site, remove old URLs, etc.) Hope that helps! Christy PS - To clarify what Don recommended on preventing duplicate content, it is best practice to 301 redirect URLs when moving from http to https (vs. using canonical tags).

Will Google penalize a text ad if the display URL goes nowhere?
Just to be clear, when you say display and destination urls need to match -- you're referring to the domain correct? There is no rule that says display URLs & Destination URLs need to be the same other than the domain. For instance, I have made ads that have the following display URLS: Thing.Domain.com/KeyWord-Thing domain.com/Keyword domain.com/Thing.Keyword.Stuff for URLS that looked like this:: domain.com/20141231/31/nerwal-things/keyword-never-in-the-url domain.com/stuff/cart/keyword whyasubdomain.domain.com So there is definitely no correlation on the Google side about keeping display URLs and Destination URLs the same beyond domain.com Also, as far as QS goes -- Google wants you to have the best CTR you can get and suggests regularly to try testing different display URL sequences and words with each adgroup (assuming you have very well segmented adgroups). So yes, your Display URL will impact your QS, so test some changes

Blog tags are creating excessive duplicate content...should we use rel canonicals or 301 redirects?
The easiest way to resolve issues with tags is to noindex them. I wrote a post about how you can safely do this: http://www.evolvingseo.com/2012/08/10/clean-sweep-yo-tag-archives-now (you basically just double check to see if they are receiving traffic, and leave the few that receive traffic via search indexed). But at the root level it comes down to knowing how to use tags correctly on a blogging platform to begin with - and knowing how they function, and what happens when you tag something. First off, tagging any post creates a new page called a "tag archive". The only way someone can get to tag archives by default is if you allow some sort of navigation or links to them on the site itself. This is usually in the form of a "tag cloud" (sidebar or footer) or at the bottom of posts when it says "tagged in....." and links to the tags. Then if they are internally linked to, they will get indexed (unless you noindex them like I have suggested above). They are typically low to no-value pages because most bloggers just tag everything, and use lots of tags per post. Then you end up with hundreds of pages (tag archives) with no value. So noindexing them is the safest way to go, except for very extreme cases where a blogger uses them 100% perfect (which is rare, so I always assume most people asking should just noindex but use my post to check for traffic to any of them first).

Is it okay to copy and paste on page content into the meta description tag?
If you feel that your are explaining the page the best you can in the meta description that go of it. I think that this is one of the most vital tags on the website. It brings people into your website.

Updating the Google Knowledge Graph....any hard answers on how to do this?
Unfortunately, it's a bit of a black box right now. The timing is unclear (it's usually not immediate for the information to go from Wikipedia to Freebase to Knowledge Graph), but a couple of notes: (1) If you can, make a direct edit to Freebase. I'm not sure how/when the Wikipedia to Freebase transfer happens. (2) Definitely get the information into another source, like Google+. Google seems to look for multiple sources, whenever possible. Andrew Isidoro has some great posts on the subject (and he's one of the only people writing about it): http://moz.com/blog/i-am-an-entity-hacking-the-knowledge-graph

Alternatives to SEO Book's Rank Checker
I understand your directness, but for future reference I would be careful about name calling. It's fuel for the fire for some people (trolls). My original comments were not intended to be malicious, they were just ignorant. Besides that I have donated to www.charitywater.org. I'm glad to see that your company is involved with humanitarian efforts and I'm glad I can help out. And thanks again for getting rank checker updated. Love that tool.
