Google Places for Business - multiple accommodation listings
Hi Laurie, Your concerns are on target. The Google Places Quality Guidelines are very clear on this: Rental or for-sale properties, such as vacation homes or vacant apartments, are not eligible to be listed on Google Maps and should not be verified. Instead, verify the listing for your sales or leasing office or offices. If you have a property with an on-site office, you may verify that office location. If you list a business in Google Places for Business, it means that it is a staffed location to which customers come to have a transaction during listed business hours. A rental property does not meet this definition. The exception to this would be an SAB (service area business like a plumber) that goes to clients to serve during listed business hours, but this is also not your client's business model. Unfortunately, what your client (and her competitors) are doing is a violation of the guidelines. I know it can be really tempting to break rules when you see so many competitors getting away with it, but it's very risky to consider this a justification for violation. If Google wakes up to what's going on (and they probably eventually will) they may not only suspend all her rental listings, but her legit listing, too, leaving her with no local presence. Getting back into Google's good graces after something like this can be next-to-impossible. So my advice - and I'm positive that this is what a Google staffer would tell you, too - would be to get rid of those ineligible listings before they cause a breakdown in trust between the business and Google. If she takes the high road when Google cracks down, she will likely thrive while less rule-abiding competitors fall by the wayside.

'Server not responding to query' response
Hello Laurie! Abe here from the Moz Help Team. Sorry about the issues with setting up your campaign. I want to make sure this is as easy as possible. First, make sure you are entering the full: www.bayofislandsinformation.co.nz as your subdomain. Also, if you are just seeing a popup saying that the address "doesn't respond to web requests"... simply click through that message. It is purely precautionary and your full crawl should still take place. If you experience any issues beyond this, never hesitate to contact us directly at help@moz.com. I am here to help!

Root domain or 'www' subdomain for campaigns?
Hi Laurie, I agree with Dana. I think that whatever you choose for your Google Webmaster tools & the rel="canonical" this is yours <link <span class="webkit-html-attribute-name">rel="canonical" href="http://www.prohibitionhats.co.nz" /</link <span> Should show you the correct answer of if you should use subdomain if it exists or not The correct answer can always be found by going to show source and using either command or control really using your PC or Mac along with the F button and then typing in rel="canonical" You will find as I have what the correct link is for your website and wanted 301 redirects to or should 301 redirect to all the time. In your case it is this link below showing that you should use the subdomain www. rel="canonical" href="http://www.prohibitionhats.co.nz" / www.prohibitionhats.co.nz rel="canonical" href="" /> This is very important because this is where Google is going to send your links and your traffic if you pick the Google Webmaster tools and if it's 301 redirected it's where your links are going to go I hope I've been of help. Sincerely, Thomas

Keyword Ranking Report: does the organic traffic data take into account visitors logged into Google?
There are some methods. If you can get somebody to log into with a law style login. Mail chimp used to have a system that works very well. If you can get them to login with Google, twitter, etc. you will get a lot of good information about what they have done this essentially lets the person logging into your site registering give up their rights of privacy and not totally but somewhat and in many cases you will be able to see those "SSL hidden keywords." Here's more information I hope this helps you https://developers.google.com/accounts/ https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OpenID https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2Login https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/OpenID+plugin I hope this is a help to you sincerely, Thomas
