RE: URLs indexed Vs Submitted
On the dashboard I have over 500K URLs submitted. Number of URL's indexed has now dropped to 50K but yet when I go to: Google Index - > Index Status I am up to 600+K.
We have some duplicate information but everything is canonicalized accordingly.
As to where I am looking - When you first log into WMT and click on your site - "Dashboard" section.
Any ideas anyone?
Would be nice if Google could just have a question icon next to certain data to clearly define what the information means - whether your an expert or a newb.

RE: How long until an address changes after verification on Google My Business?
I would give it a week+. They have to review the changes.

RE: URLs indexed Vs Submitted
Thanks Patrick. Appreciate your help!
Still would be curious to know what that number means exactly. I can do the research but still a little vague on that number.

RE: URLs indexed Vs Submitted
Thanks Patrick.
My biggest concern is that if this number keeps going down - does this mean that our overall quality is going down and so they are indexing less pages?
The issue is that beginning of the year I was over 60% of the overall number submitted and now down to 25+%.
Also when I go to Index Status - the graph is fairly straight over the last 6 months.
What is your take on that?

URLs indexed Vs Submitted
When we log into our Google Webmaster Tools dashboard, we have noticed that where it says URLs indexed - every week that number has been going down by over 20K while the submitted number has stayed roughly the same.
Any idea what this means? Anyone?

How do you optimize a page with Syndicated Content?
Content is syndicated legally (licensed). My questions are:
- What is the best way to approach this situation?
- Is there any a change to compete with the original site/page for the same keywords?
- Is it okay to do so? Will there be any negative SEO impact on my site?

Software/tool for Content Inventory
Is there any tool out there which can crawl a section of a website (or whole website) and gives a list of urls by subsections?
I have tried PowerMapper but it only gives visual map, not a list.
Thanks!

RE: Keyword tool
In addition to above tools, try http://www.seoprofiler.com (there is a free subscription option). then go to Organic Keyword Spy. You can find keywords that your competitors rank for as well as your website rank for. I found so many new keywords that I didn't know my client's site is ranking for (and have a change to rank better).

RE: Best way to re-order page elements based on search engine users
Both versions meaning, (1) for users coming from Google and (2) coming from everywhere else- yahoo, direct load, e-mail links etc.

Best way to re-order page elements based on search engine users
Both versions of the page has essentially same content, but in different order. One is for users coming from Google (and google bot) and other is for everybody else.
Questions:
- Is it cloaking?
- what will be the best way to re-order elements on the page: totally different style sheets for each version, or calling in different divs in a same style sheet?
- Is there any better way to re-order elements based on search engine?
Let me make it clear again: the content is same for everyone, just in different order for visitors coming from Google and everybody else. Don't ask me the reason behind it (executive orders!!)

RE: Is this duplicate content?
I mostly agree with kchan.
- It is considered duplicate content.
- Simplest way is to do rel canonical for the pages with ids.
However, I suspect 301 redirect is not the best way. Especially, if your website is using Omniture and/or Google web analytics code, you might get miscalculated traffic through them because of 301 redirect.
Be careful if you choose the last route.

Is it bad to have same page listed twice in sitemap?
Hello,
I have found that from an HTML (not xml) sitemap of a website, a page has been listed twice. Is it okay or will it be considered duplicate content?
Both the links use same anchor text, but different urls that redirect to another (final) page. I thought ideal way is to use final page in sitemap (and in all internal linking), not the intermediate pages. Am I right?
