There are many reasons why Google do this, but it may be that they think you are keyword stuffing.

Hey Mat Interesting response you've written. It appears that Post Panda, Google has cracked down on article submissions i.e. not giving much value at all? So would you agree, that one is better off writing an article and posting it in their own blog, and in their own social media pages? Cheers George

In short, get all the links. For B&Bs, even if your site is in another language, you're still going to want listings on English travel sites like TripAdvisor, etc. Ideally the links from English sites would link to the English version of your site, and non-English links would point to the appropriate language version of your site. This option will produce the best conversions from each regional market of potential guests.
