Question About : Redirecting Old Pages to New & More Relevant Ones
Yes, if the old pages are completely outdated, then it makes sense to redirect them to an up-to-date page. If the old pages still have some value, then you may also consider just adding a prominent note at the top of the page linking to the new location.

Advise about Social Sharing between two loosely affiliated website - (retweets/fb cross sharing)
Cool, I sort of thought that would be the case. I was just concerned because I didnt have dedicated time to develop my niche site, so even thought its been online for 8 years... The penguin penalty was rather severe, and took a full year of cleaning just to be re included. Meaning I want no association between the two site. That being said, I can't see how natural social sharing for a few weeks could be damaging to my primary website but I just wanted to check to see if anyone had experience with this specifically. By that I mean, how social metrics and sharing may impact a website... I know anytime I get a re tweet or share from a large outlet, I see substantial traffic, and sometimes ranking increases... However have never seen, talked about or noticed the impact of a share from a website like my niche site. Which has a pristine service record, strong social following but yeah was kicked for a reason. thx

How to get contacts to my Google Plus Business Page, not my personal?
This was driving me crazy so i made a small in browser jquery script. First you need to load in jquery via the firebug or chrome console. You need to be on the page that has the contacts in gmail. You run this script in the console: (function( $ ) { $.fn.pop = function() { var top = this.get(-1); this.splice(this.length-1,1); return top; }; $.fn.shift = function() { var bottom = this.get(0); this.splice(0,1); return bottom; }; })( jQuery ); var list = $('.MN.MQ.abJ'); var counter = 0; var total = list.length; var timer, timer_two; contact = list.shift(); contact.click(); timer = setTimeout(function(){cycle(list);},2000); counter++; function cycle(){ if($('.abZ').filter(':visible').attr('href')){ console.log($('.abZ').filter(':visible').attr('href')); } window.location.href ='https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#contacts/group/XXXXXXXXXX/YYYYY'; timer_two = setTimeout(function(){wait();},2000); } function wait(list){ list = $('.MN.MQ.abJ'); i = 0; while(i++ < counter){ this_contact = list.shift(); } counter++; this_contact.click(); timer = setTimeout(function(){cycle();},2000); } Edited to update code a bit. its faster now and better. You might want to disable "extensions.firebug.showXMLHttpRequests;false" in about:config for the duration of the logging so that it doesn't get all clogged up with post requests. Important! make sure to replace https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#contacts/group/XXXXXXXXXX/YYYYY with the correct path to your contact list list. if you have multiple pages of contacts you can let the script finish and then do the next page by changing: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#contacts/group/XXXXXXXXXX/YYYYY to https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#contacts/group/XXXXXXXXXX/YYYYY/P1 then https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#contacts/group/XXXXXXXXXX/YYYYY/P2 and so on. You could probably tighten up the timers a bit. Eventually you get a list of all the google plus account urls in the console log. You copy this out and then import to google plus page via circloscope. Cheers, Adrian

Website Displayed by Google as Https: when all Secure Content is Blocked - Causing Index Prob.
Yeah, I have all of that in place. I found 1 external link from an https , and 1 on my blog that was just an error one of my employees made. 2 Links total, at least thats what I found. Robots blocking everything you mentioned. My header uses absolute paths. I do agree with you on one thing, once kicked, the little things that may not have mattered over the past 15 years all the sudden pop up as problems... At the same time I have heard the complete opposite, people are kicked and then they are right back where they used to be a few weeks after being included. Competitive sabotage is positively happening, unless a random person who happens to live in the same city my competitor is located just went awol and decided they wanted to spam my offsite forums, attempt to hack the website multiple times, and add me to a spam link rink. Anyway a webmaster says he has changed the canonical on their end to http , although it hasnt changed yet. I'm sure this could take a few days or longer to take place. Hopefully that is the fix, we'll see though and thanks for the advise!

VRL Parameters Question - Exclude? or use a Canonical Tag?
Ah ok now I understand, misread it a bit. Well, 2 ways to do it then: 1. Rel canonical to a 'view all products page', in this case the rel canonical is a valid option. 2. Implement pagination with rel next/prev - this will work also. The preferred option would usually be the first, but this does mean that search visitors would normally be landing on the all products view. Depends on how many products each brand has to a degree, how user friendly seeing all the products together is, page load times etc. Check out this page for a good rundown on the options and implementation.

New Website Look/Structure - Should I Redirect or Update Pages w/ Quality Inbound Links
Yeah because of the age of my website, there was just news that was picked up YEARS ago... a lot are hi-pr links, i just want to make sure I do the right thing with em because as it stands right now any traffic gained from these now is 75%+ bounce rate. Good anchor text for most, 301 is what I was thinking about first... then i thought, maybe just wrap the pages in my new header and hope the searches dont remove or derank these random pages. Again - We are talking about 50 pages, which bring in about 4k clicks a month... Albeit not huge, just didnt know what to do with them. One more Idea - I make a new different header that used a "nofollow" on all links for all my category & brand pages, then use it to wrap these old pages... The idea would be to preserve the "old content" , and hopefully keep the pages ranked #1 for their respective low volume searches... Would that even work?

Blog posts copied to Facebook or Linked? Any Duplicate Content Issues?
If you want to share your blogpost content on Facebook then the best way is to share it via updates or add the link to the notes. You can also rewrite the summary of the blogpost and add a catchy text so that people click the link to go to your blog. For e.g. Latest trends show that............ To read more on this, click....

Negative Stuff - Post Edit
I would hire someone who really knows their stuff about Penguin and Panda.... and has lots of experience getting penalized sites restored in the SERPs. That person might know what can be done about your situation. It might not cost as much as you think
