Max-snippet max length
I try to structure the meta description to describe what is on the landing page in a way to encourage click-throughs under the max-constraint. If you are shorter, no biggie! Good luck

How long does it take for canonical tags to work
Assuming Google crawls the page, how long do you think it will take before we know whether Google is following canonical tags? By follow I mean whether they are following the signal and ranking the canonical link.

Rel=Canonical For Landing Pages
I'm with you on using rel=canonical but the new pages are slightly different in that they have a lot more content for SEO purposes. The content definitely provides value to users but wondering if the extra content means Google will ignore canonical tag? Google mentions that canonical is good for duplicates where pages are very similar if not identical.

Does Google read dynamic canonical tags?
I believe it's a limitation of our CMS. I'll see if we can try it in htaccess or PHP. Thanks for the insight.

Moving to old site to new domain sub directory
Yes, redirect as many pages to the same page or a similar page as you can. Then other pages to a more general product section if you cannot find one-to-one. This is really about the user experience more so than SEO. You don't want the users ending up on a 404 page. So long as you address it from the user experience, and it sounds like you are, then you should be fine.

Domain Change
Hi David, yes, we moved from site.com to site.org. We are running off WP and have the SEO plugin activated which has a rel=canonical feature. Pages on new site have canonical tags pointing to the new .org page. So no, we're not pointing back to the old .com pages. We fixed the duplicate content issue so just need to wait and see if that helps. It's been over a month and old site still showing up in index when I use directive site:mysite.com. I also submitted change site address in search console.

Hamburger nav causing drop in organic traffic?
I think your answer is in the question All our old pages were 301 redirected and content is relatively the same on the new redesigned website. So if you recently remodeled and redid your URLs that's a much more likely suspect in your drop. 301s past most, but not necessarily all, page juice

Redirecting homepage to subdirectory
Sorry don't think I replied directly to your comment... the previous site defaulted to English so every page on mysite.com was in English. The other languages were accessible via top navigation and those were/are found under mysite.com/jp/ mysite.com/aus/ The only change now is instead of having English pages on mysite.com/some-page/ they've decided to add the English subdirectory /en/ so you get mysite.com/en/ mysite.com/en/some-page/ The homepage was never a language select page because English is the most commonly requested language. I'm just wondering if adding /en/ to each page will have a negative impact to the site. A large chunk of our links were pointing to the old homepage www.mysite.com but now our homepage is www.mysite.com/en/ (keep in mind we have thousands of linking root domains pointing to all different parts of our site and we are considered an authority) Hope I explained that ok. Thanks.

Rotating Anchor Text
I agree with Martijin and Mat It's jsut a scheme to sell the tool more, and nothing more than that. I wouldn't use the tool as it goes against the Guidelines

Mobile Country Detection
There is a geolocation method/API in HTML5, but you won't be allowed to automatically get it, due to privacy issues - read here: http://diveintohtml5.info/geolocation.html. Don't let that put you off though, offering location-specific services is an incentive for people to let their location be revealed. All the best with your international project

Backlink Tool for HTTPS
Hi, According to my experience, Open-site explorer from SEOmoz and ahrefs.com is best backlink checker tool for both HTTP and HTTPS. These both tools are very helpful to you to analysis your site's backlinks.
