RE: Panda Recovery - What is the best way to shrink your index and make Google aware?
what about this approach - I am assuming that you know the exact date when the rank falls ..
You need to compare the traffic from Google for each pages. Find out those pages that suffered the most. Either get them removed [just exactly what you are doing] or completely rewrite them, adding nice images, videos etc, in short make it more interactive.
Now locate pages that are not that much affected. You need to make slight changes in them. Do not remove these pages.
Now locate those pages that have not affected at all. If those pages are content heavy, you need to produce some more pages with well written content./
Hope that helps.

RE: Unnecessary pages getting indexed in Google for my blog
Please check that the comment pages are blocked by robots.txt file -
However, the blocked pages are now getting redirected to the main landing page of the blog posts.
Seems like it will take a while for Google to recrawl these pages and sort the issue.
In the mean time, could you please show some pages that are getting indexed by Google.

RE: Help with blog for linkbuilding location.
Honesty speaking, I am not getting what you mean to say here – “Right now there is no linkbuilding so I would like to create a blog to start linkbuilding.”
_Do you mean, you will develop a blog solely for the sake of doing 3 way link exchange? Please elaborate. Of you want to develop a blog and then post some great articles which will help you earn some natural links. The second one sounds a logical approach and of course doing guest blogging in others’ sites and get a link back would be another great effort to make your blog attain some sort of online visibility.
And of course, there is no point in launching another domain. This will not pass any value to your existing website. _

RE: Should I block wordpress archive and tag?
If the blog posts are accessible otherwise, you can go ahead and place the following meta tag in all the tags and archive pages –

RE: Killing 404 errors on our site in Google's index
complex thing. Not sure if this may help you or not -
Example meta tag
Add the following meta tag in the HTML source of your page:
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="mon, 27 sep 2010 14:30:00 GMT">

RE: Is white text on a white background an issue when...?
Ok the thing is, if text is humanly readable, you are safe. Just because you are using white texts and then something goes wrong with the style and the texts go invisible for a few days will not necessarily get your website banned. However, here I am assuming that you are not stuffing keywords there

RE: What should be on my homepage ?
Some inner pages do not have navigational links http://mac-win.co.uk/iphone-repair-manchester
Some pages lack content. Example - http://mac-win.co.uk/blackberry-repair-manchester
http://mac-win.co.uk/find-us - Google Plus is linked with broken page_In Home page; short snippets of the service are not linked with their respective pages. Moreover, I do not like the idea of pushing the visitors to click on the free quote button. There should be some texts and graphical elements to support this Free Quote button.
Also suggest removing these phrases as they look like an attempt to increase keywords density:
http://mac-win.co.uk/tomtom-repairs-manchester_- TomTom LCD Replacement
- TomTom Touchscreen Replacement
- TomTom Drop Damage
- TomTom Freezing
- TomTom Not Charging
- TomTom Not Turning On
- TomTom Water Damaged
- TomTom Battery Not Holding Charge
- TomTom Speaker Replacement
- TomTom No Maps Found
- TomTom Maps Update
- TomTom Maps Activation
- TomTom Repairs Manchester
I did not find any XML sitemap.
The following Open graph codes have been used twice in all pages –

RE: Time On Site and SEO?
_However, it makes sense to try to increase average time users spent on website. If a user spends more time on a page that simply means that the visitor is finding the page interesting. Catchy headlines, well written content, use of high quality images, videos etc can go a long way to make visitors spend a few more seconds on the page. On the other hand, if you make the body content appear meaningless by stuffing too many keywords, add cheesy stock images or boring images, add thin content and make the page heavy with loads of images, visitors will bounce back for certain. Hope that helps. _

RE: For SEO Purposes, What is a Good Website Builder?
_Do not take it otherwise, personally I would prefer to hire a website designer because when you are using website builder chances are there it may lack the professional touches. _

RE: Link Exchange
_Just wait for the big [upcoming] penguin update and I hope that these sites will be torched. You are not along who is seeing worthless sites ranking high in competitive terms. There are hundreds and thousands sites with spammy link profiles still ranking high. Hopefully, they will get caught by algo updates soon. _

RE: Re-direction concerns
_As long as the domains are somewhat related and as long as you are not redirecting hundreds and thousands of them, you are safe. It is quite common practice. For say, if you have a domain like this – http://www.example.com , you can always buy the following domains - http://www.example.org , http://www.example.net , http://www.example.me etc. However, if you are buying domains which are thinly related to your website and then getting then redirected after building tons of links to then, it could be a trouble for your website in the long run. _

RE: Are Links/Resources pages considered spam?
_Ok, here I am assuming that you are sending mails to high quality sites with the hope of getting your website listed legitimately there and you hope that this initiative will drive some traffic and add credibility to your brand. I do not take it a worrying trend because you are not spamming the web with exact matched anchor text or trolling gov sites with comment spams. However, if the Gov sites are asking to return the favor in exchange of some kind of link back, in that case, it could be something to worry about. Now, if you are still worried, you can simply use rel nofollow tag against the link. _

RE: Why are my rankings down?
Two things I would like to point out:
Majority of pages have little or no content
Adsense ad is juxtaposed with the body content -
RE: Are no follows leaking link juice?
Well as far as I know nofollow does not pass any PR juice. And please check this post -

In general, we don't follow them. **This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. **
I hope you have got your answer.

RE: Duplicate content vs. less content
_I am assuming that you are referring internal duplicate content issue. In that case, I would rather suggest you to fix them by adding canonical or by adding noindex Meta data or by specifying some rules in robots.txt file. No need to remove the forum if it is adding value to user experience. However, if you feel that your forum is getting ruled by spammers and trolls, you should take down the whole thing. I hope that it would do good to your website in the long run. _

RE: Redirection Effects on Sub Domain
Umm a bit complicated.. From the users’ perspective, it would look strange if the Site A gets redirected to Site B but the sub-domains do not. And from search engine’s perspective, I do not think, it will be the right thing to do. Say for Blogger.com. If Blogger.com gets penalized or starts losing traffic, it will have far reaching impacts on its sub domains as well. So, it will be great if you redirect the sub domains as well.
BUT remember, when you are doing 301 direction, you are in fact carrying the legacy of the past domain. That means the new domains will enjoy all the link juice, authority and at the same time, if the website has been penalized, the new domain will also come under scanner.
_So before you make the decision, you need think about this. _

RE: 2 sites in one niche?
Of course not. But here I am assuming that you are not copy-pasting the same information in two sites.
